ok lang yung mga laptop na yan. ang problema minsan ay sobrang tinitipid sa features. yung iba isa lang ang slot sa SODIMM na RAM.

my father has an msi s270. an i plan on getting an msi s420 to replace my old p3 system...

    hmmm....MSI isn't exactly low end imho B)

afaik, the earlier ecs laptops, masyado daw umiinit pag ginamit ng matagal; pati keyboard daw gets uncomfortably hot pag matagalang gamit. ewan ko lang sa mga sumunod na laptops nila

Even the branded ones like Acer, Asus, Compaq, Dell have entry-level notebooks from P30K upwards. Yun lang, Celeron M ang processor, tsaka walang XP installed.

o nga, i hav noticed, kahit yung mga entry level notebooks are also good esp for students to do the basic tasks. kaso everything has a price nga. if a notebook is around 30th, alang OS na included. hehehehe ... ms mganda pg me dalang licensed software na, para ok. imho lng po ...

btw, i saw an article in gadgets.ph about sony vaio making more affordable laptops. around 60th ata ...

well...there *is* that $100 laptop, aka the Children's Machine.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Laptop_per_Child

has a linux os, with a hand crank you can use to charge the battery. not exactly cutting edge, but kinda cool. yun nga lang, when a prototype was presented to the UN, Koffi Annan managed to break the crank while trying to operate it B)

mababa na laptops kasi may industry standards ng sinusunod that may provide interchangeability of parts... saka malakas magproduce ang China ngayon kahit ano pa-manufacture mo kayang gawin... and more PC makers are attracted to the notebook platform dahil mejo malaki kinikita nila kaya kahit magprice war sila malaki pa rin kita di gaya sa desktop konti na lang kita... saka consumers now would rather have a notebook as a primary PC than a desktop...

hmmm...dunno..iba pa rin ung may full sized keyboard, and di pa ako nasasanay sa lcd display. and a desktop is tougher for your pesky neighbor/bro/sis to borrow/steal :D
