how any of you guys use your cellphones as your daily planners? i recently tried to use a pda, pero lagi ko kasing naiiwan. i usually end up punching in my sked into my humble 6020 -- and text input is a real pain. tsaka medyo bitin ung calendar functions niya.

can you guys recommend a good cell to upgrade to? wag naman ung sobrang bulky or high tech, takaw nakaw kasi B)

wacha guys think, worth it na ba to get a unit with wifi?

i've been using my phones as a planner wayback my 6250 days.
as for which cp to recommend, I guess any phone with a PIM function ought to do the trick for you since you're not really aiming for the high-end ones. you might want to look at one whereby you could easily transfer the present infos in your current phone to the new one.
wifi? it depends, would you really be able to maximize/utilize this feature? otherwise, you could possibly live without it.

I use my N80 as my day planner and it does it effectively enough.

Any nokia Symbian Series60 celfone would do, although you will still have to deal with number-pad input. A relatively affordable celfone would be the E65 or N80 (priced at P16K or a bit less). The N80 has WiFi but the unit is battery hungry if you use it heavily. The E65 also has WiFi but I am not sure about it being battery hungry.

As for WiFi being worth having in a celfone. My N80 and my answer is it depends on what you need in a celfone. Most of the local hotspots are pay for access so not much surfing via hotspot unless you have your own WiFi network/hotspot setup. Abroad, like in some US airports or hotels, WiFi is free so you can go surfing the internet there with no problems.

Wow, I really like this one. I'm a communicator fan. Currently, I'm using a 9300i. My phone calendar is synchronized with my Outlook.

    Nokia e61 here.

Masakit ang penalties sa BIR when I missed out tax payment. So it's easy to justify my getting one.

ung e65 ung tinatarget ko ngayon...i'm a bit skeptical about sliders though, pakiramdam ko luluwang ung slider as time goes by.

maganda rin sana ung blackberry-type phones...kaso ubod ng mahal.

Nokia e65 is a good choice. not as bulky as N80. wala lang siya radio and single camera lang. but a great pick for me. Wifi ready.

Re: sa battery, battery hungry din ito. I have to charge every night to be able to use it the next day.

I use the Sony Ericsson M600i and its really good. I could do the following:

    - Sync my contacts, notes and appointments in Outlook within seconds of plugging.
    - Read and send the company's email since migrating to Exchange 2003 with OMA.
    - Browse Yahoo! and Gmail.
    - Browse the internet as well.
    - Type in emails and text messages easily with a QWERTY type keyboard.

Its pretty handy and slim. Bad part that it does not have a camera, but don't need it naman eh.

    .

dunno about bulky... kasi they are about the same size, except the E65 has rounded corners lang.

Also camera of E65 is 2mp carl zeiss lens while the N80 is a 3mp (not carl zeiss lens).

Correct,gh. They're almost the same size, but e65 is slimmer, so it's lighter than the n80. But both are great phones

sir gh, stable ba ung n80 mo -- i.e. any random hangs, power offs, etc?

i checked out the 6110 navigator at a nokia shop today; ok naman ung ergonomics and such, kaso....what the heck am i gonna do with GPS? medyo conflicting din ung info -- sabi ng saleslady me WiFi,sa net wala

    currently it's a threesome, este, threeway for me -- e65, n80, 6110. sana magbagsakan presyo come 13-month pay B)
