anyone on this pls. ive dsl connection using an adsl modem connected to my existing telephone line. the isp provider offers different plans different speed different price. i just wanna know sa adsl connection ba nacocontrol or naiseset ba ng isp ang speed ng connection kapag adsl connection yung shared siya sa tel line? kasi i subscribed sa 256 kbps connection. they told me that maintained yung speed but under my observation and several speed test im getting different result. like on daytime/ office hours im getting speeds sometimes as low as 30 kbps tp 60 kbps. tapos minsan bigla 128 to 300 kbps for several minutes tapos magdodrop uli. tapos kapag 10pm naman or early am im getting 1mbps. super bilis talaga. bakit sabi nila 256 kbps maintained tapos naabot ng 500 kbps to 1 mbps. my point is i subscribed sa 256 kbps then ang kapitbahay ko subscribed sa 128 kbps but we are getting identical results. almost parehas din specs ng pc namin. my point is baka wala naman sila control sa speed bakit sila ng ooffer ng different plans? di kaya pangloloko yun? same connection lang pala different prices. what do you think guys?

AFAIK they can control how much speed you can get.

like sa office namin, nakasubscribe lang kami for 768Kbps (lumang plan pa), but we are getting 1.5mbps - 2mbps. may tinawagan lang yun nagkabit sa amin dito sa office nila(PLDT) tas biglang naging ganun na ang binabatong speed sa amin. (kilala kasi namin yun nagkabit eh), ang kapalit nga lang kelangan namin pakainin yun nagkabit hehehe at konting tip na 300 petot.

    Port speed = as advertised
CIR = commited information rate, not advertised, hindi ka bababa dito dapat-usually nasa type of package ito..

Say for example you subscribed for DSL packageX 512k and 1/16 CIR, 512k ang port speed pero pwedeka bumaba but not less than 512/16 = 32k..Kaya kung complain ka at within CIR ang speedtest mo ay can't contest..

Sometimes nag bburst ang speed more than the port speed, akala ng iba nagkamali lang pero madami ito dahilan like..human error at mali ang profile na naka config sa port mo, and hindi pa congested ang multiplexer where you are connected..

DSL ports(client) share bandwidth in the multiplexer but commited speed should not change.

ADSL and Telephone port have different multiplexers they only share the Physical Wire from central office going to your home and splitted through the ADSL filter..ADSL modems usually configured as passthrough device kaya no speed gain kahit tweak ito

same case with you, nung una ok lang since most of the time voice lang ang nawala sa akin and most of the time pwede naman mag hand phone, same reason ang binigay ng CSR nila pag walang dial tone walang dsl, magulo kausap ang mga yan, hanggang sa nawala na rin ang dsl ko. kaya oras oras ko na sila finofollow up, it turns out nagloloko na yung sa main box nila and they have to get a new line para sa akin, after makabitan ng bago, ayos na.. dapat lang kulitin mo. kulang na nga lang mamura mo sila eh.. hay
