EPSON L110 is around P5,800 with one set of ink bottles (black, blue, red, yellow). The older L100 is currently sold at P5,500 with two black extra black ink bottles. It sounds like a nice bargain BUT you have to consider the slow printing speed of the L100. Personally, I would get the L110 because of the faster print speed.

If you refill your old toner cartridges, it's usually between P800 to P1200 depending on the cartridge model/size. Note that the print drum has a limited print-life and replacing that will cost you another P700 to P1000 depending on model. In my experience, a drum can last typically two to four refills before you need to replace it. There is also a "toner blade" inside the cartridge that will need to be replaced every five or more refills, costs around P300 I think.

It's been 4 years and I still have not bought a printer
But now I seriously need to buy one. I don't want to go beyond P3k since I will use it just for printing documents or statement of accounts.
Can anyone recommend a printer that is basic, durable and not bulky. Also preferably a unit that is available at Villman since that is where I always buy.

I've always had good experience with HP inkjets. Average lifespan is around 5-6 years. The one time I had to bring in one for warranty they didn't have parts for it so they replaced it with a newer model. ☺
My next printer will be a laser though. Cost per page is a lot lower, around Php 1.x vs Php 3.x

Cheap printers actually cost more in the long run ... their inks are expensive because you are also replacing the head ... after 2-3 replacements it's like buying a new printer ... more expensive printers have much cheaper ink refills ... try those new printers with ink tank systems ... a Canon G2000 which costs about 7500 more or less has ink refills that costs 295 each ... the black ink can print around 6000 pages ... that's 0.05 centavos per page ... color ink is 295 x 3 and can print 7000 pages ... about 0.126 centavos per page ...

I won't be printing a lot though. I told my Mom I only need P3k
Just my monthly statements because my bank doesn't send paper bills anymore.

The problem with inkjets eh you have to use it constantly. Nakakailang inkjet na kami na pag di nagamit ng ilang buwan eh natutuyo ang ink at bumabara at nasisira. it's like we are spending 3k to 4k every time we need to print.
Thats why we switched to laser printer. the cheapest we found is Fujitsu. 12k only. wifi enabled. it has all the bells and whistles of network printer. and the most important part eh hindi nasisira kahit ilang buwan di gamitin.

When was the last time you changed them? If it's been a while, I suggest following your mechanic's...
