Personally, the Sony digital cameras are pretty good, just avoid the "card-type" thin digicams because they have a slight image "sharpness" problem.

i also use a sony digicam pero its kinda old na... i like canon also..the ixus series is nice..i tried the ixus 700 (nasa 30k nga lang) ang ganda, ang bilis pa! dont buy the casio exilim..it has a bluish hue..

can't go wrong with Canon or Nikon. But Canon has better support in the PI.

my gf just gave me a canon ixus IIs last week..grabe ang ganda.i love the quality even if it's just 3.2 mp...i think it's the lens that canon uses..maganda talaga.

ayoko lang sa sony, mem stick niya is para sa kaniya lang.yung canon, it shares an sd card with other cameras like konica..etc.

kung gusto mo makamura sa hidalgo daw sa quiapo mura ang mga camera's you'll be suprised sa baba ng presyo sa kanila compared sa malls and computer shops.

Yes, sa Hidalgo murang mura. Just got my canon S60 * Php 23,000 sa Mayers. Sa mall it costs Php 30,000+. Quite satisfied with my S60. Watsons is also a good shop in Hidalgo.

for 20k, go with canon powershot A series or IXUS series.

don't base your decision on image quality too much, im telling you, it wont matter too much when you have 4R size photos printed out or when you upload your photos for online viewing. most of the image quality issues that digicam websites talk about are with viewing the photos at 100% or even more, which you'll practically never do.

base your decision more on after-sales support, how comfortable it is in your hand, battery life, features (if that's important to you), ease of use, etc.

i've had an iffy experience with a sony compact digicam, CCD sensor went kaput after just 1.5 years, and the lens zoom mechanism is acting up na rin.

Me & My Wife happen to own a Kodak 3.2 DX4330 & a Sony Cybershot 3.2 P8. Mas maputla yun Sony, in terms of output. I dont know about the new Sony's with Carl Zeiss Lens, baka ito yun improved models nila.

But I agree that the Canon is the best nag-compare pics na kami ng in-laws ko of the three. I heard nikon is also good but never had a chance to test it though.

I recommend yung Canon powershot A80 or newer models. 4 megapixels na siya, tapos pwede mo pang iswivel yung lcd just in case you need to take overheadshots or angled shots.
