Whats a good bar code printer and where can I buy?
Barcodes can be printed even from a standard injket or laser printer... though their limitation is the longevity of the said barcodes.
For a more durable barcode sticker, you should purchase a thermal printer. I'll try to find out the brand that we use here in the office.
ito gamit ng depot namin, Zebra Z4MPlus industrial grade thermal barcode printer. super heavy duty ito just like those used by big malls. medyo may kamahalan lang nga * 90+k, 2 years ago if i remember correctly. problem is i have no idea where we got it, kapatid ko kasi bahala dun.

There is no "best" bar code printer. It depends on several factors -
1. How will your bar codes be read - by gun or scanner?
2. Will the labels be applied flat or on shaped objects?
3. What are the sizes of your labels?
4. How often will you be printing?
5. How long do you need the bar codes to last on the label?
As mazdamazda pointed out, you can print barcodes right out of the standad inkjet or laser printer, or you can opt for high-end high-speed models. But if your application does not require high resolution, long-lasting prints, then buying a high-end model may be overkill.
Just my 2 cents.
1. By hand held scanner, Symbol brand the one used on most POS/cash register machines.
2. Flat labels, for price tag on dry goods.
3. Normal sticker price tag size similar to the size used by most department stores.
4. Not sure, nautusan lang maghanap. Not really my department.
5. Don't know I guess a few months to a year on the outside.
How do you print barcodes from a laser or inkjet printer?
we use the Datamax I-4208 and Seagull Bartender as the software to print labels.
Sorry for the late response. The frequency of printing determines the durability required for the printer so you may want to find out.
If the dry goods are sold rather quickly then you don't need the labels to last that long.
And as cOzee stated, you can download bar code fonts but you need to know the format you are using, although some software allows the use of custom formats.
if you have CorelDraw, it has an included software that let's you print barcodes.
