I'll post stuff as they publish to us.

when i was still in a law firm, i also worked with the IP division and we did conduct raids on counterfeit retailers and manufacturers. kaya lang at that time, puro trademark infringement cases involving lacoste, sony, general electric, to name a few

why not just pay for the software since pinagkakakitaan naman nila yan?! I understand piracy for home use (tho it IS still wrong) pero kapal naman ng mukha pati sa negosyo.

the problem is microsoft did not consult any of the affected sectos regarding legalizing nor did they publish options on how you can purchase their softwares.

In thailand, I heard microsoft released a "starter kit" Windows edition which costs only US$40. Why not also do that here?

You can close your shop so that they won't be able to go in, parehas ng bir. The problem is yung raid hindi naman sept 16 lang, yun yung start date ng raid nila.
I think microsoft is planning to produce a package for 5-10 computers, it will be cheaper than buying individual pack but it won't that cheap na parang 10:1

if MS introduces a licensing agreement of 5:1... I'm all for it. The problem is MS did not publish anything regarding pricing, options, etc to the affected people nor to any media outlets in general. Even their dealers and retailers didn't even know of the upcoming raids until shop owners started inquiries.

If you can't be honest, then atleast be discreet.

If there is no special agreement struck, it is assumed that you pay the full retail price. If there is no fixed retail price as you've mentioned, does that give us the license to not pay at all? In HK and in the states, 5-6 k pa rin ang home edition.

If it's cheaper in one country, then magreklamo pero IN THE MEANTIME, pay or switch to linux or something.

This is not something to be posted in open forums- things that promote dishonest business practices.

It's true that microsoft didn't announce it to computer store owners, kasi pati store owners target din nila, since a lot of shops install pirated windows to customers who buy new PCs, or have their pc/hdd serviced. Like us we have a shop but learned about the pending raid sa news sa tv lang. although it's partially good that they've announce it ahead of time, at people can prepare.
Actually the price of windows is reasonable for P5k+ but the killer is ms office P16-18k.

i use Open Office para sa spreadsheet and word processor...tama na sa akin yung nag invest ako sa licensed MS OS per pc...ayoko nang dumugo ang aking bulsa... ]

do we really have to put the stickers sa cpu?

ginawa ko kasi i scanned the sticker, deleted a few characters, wrote that they can verify the original atsaka ko idinikit sa cpu...dami kasing malikot ang kamay na customers dito sa lugar ko at baka kunin lan g ang sticker kapag di nakatingin ang bantay...
