there are plenty of portable power source in the market and i never had one so i might buy myself one of them compact device like the mini camess. the upside to ip5's battery life (tested it today and squeezed out roughly 7 hours versus the normal 8.5 to 9 hours -usual tasks like surfing, text and call, games) is that the charge up time is alot faster, at least from my observation so it would be wise to carry an extra juice just in case- and don't forget there's lot of well designed snap-on plastic cases out there so chuck that in your shop basket

September 28th, 2012 01:12 AM #164Why not just turn off your always on 3G, do you really use it all the time? My iphone 4s lasts 3 days normal use, coz i only turn on 3g if i need internet. Though the notifications from your twitter, email, fb and possibly other applications will be delayed, pero sobrang real time info dependent ka ba dyan sa States?
Napansin ko nga masyado kayo information hungry dyan, real time ang updating ng locations and traffic updates nyo. But really, do you have to monitor kung nasaan ka sa map at one point in time if it's the usual route. i only make use of Maps if I'm in a foreign country or places Na first time lang ako.
But the iphone has others uses too, lalo nasa emergency so just employ your own manual battery saving schemes.
The Ip5 will be power hungry coz ganyan din naman release ng 4S.

Kaya ako i have 2 iphones eh, kse pag nagamit talaga ng husto ang 4s for a hectic day, i have 3gs as backup safely tucked in my car compartment. Parang si Transporter ganun

September 28th, 2012 01:19 AM #165If i buy the ip5, i will keep the 4s as backup. If i'm gonna be on a flight, i'll bring both iphones and my ipad. The icloud syncs all three devices naman eh real time. So if my ip5 runs out of battery, sa ip4 or so ipad ko continue work ko.
It's really simple you know, you dont need to buy those expensive 3rd party battery packs. IMessages can be synced too.
Monseratto, bumili ka ba kase ng idevice and experience the world of difference of icloud and Apple's remarkable IOS.
so that's 3 physical batteries, even on a long Pacific flight, I doubt if I will run out of battery

Whole shipment of iPhone 5s stolen from French airport
13 hours ago by Peter
Just before the Japanese launch of the iPhone 5, three stores were robbed of a total of 191 units. Then about a week ago, an employee of a London O2 store made off with an entire shipment of 250 iPhone 5s, which are worth about £100,000.
Now there’s a report that on Tuesday there was yet another major iPhone 5 theft, which occurred in France. The number of units stolen wasn’t confirmed, but the whole thing played out like a heist movie.
The iPhone 5 shipment was being loaded on a plane at Marignane airport when three armed robbers blocked the vehicle used to load the plane with two BMWs. The gunmen then forced the driver to follow the two cars and a Renault Master that lead the way.
About 10km down the road, the robbers stopped and loaded the shipment (which also included a number of Apple laptops) in the van. After they were done, they set the airport’s truck on fire and drove off.
The police investigating is ongoing.

To extend my devices' battery when traveling, I have an Energizer portable battery "Energizer® XP18000".
It can charge phones, music players, laptops, etc. No need to look for an available open power outlet when on the move.
