Frank, Its got something to do with the HDD motor. Freezing it seems to make it operate for some reason. I was skeptical too when i first heard of this, but after checking some articles over the internet, i got rather convinced. I'd think of it as a last resort procedure.... tipong wala na naman mawawala. :D
