to enter the bios, you must press the delete or f2 key right after the system boots up but not before windows starts to load. or else you'll have to restart again.
the first menu is usually the one that contains all the info about your drives. look for a "boot from cd-rom" option and enable it. if you think you altered a setting but you can't bring it back. dont worry, there's a "reset to default" option on the main menu.
you cant format you harddisk inside the BIOS. it can only be done through DOS or in WIndows.
