My OS is still XP sp2 (sp3 or Black editon is also fine) for years now & i can say it's the best edition ever from Windows. Win XP sp2 using Explorer 7 and it's phishing filter makes surfing the net safe, reliable, and fast.

I tried the Explorer 8 pero marami pa ring bug. Siguro kaunting panahon pa at mape-perfect din nila ung 8.

An issue I noticed is more evident with Win 7 (than Vista or XP) is the COM Surrogate issue on folders with mpeg 1 or 2 files. The ram simply gets eaten up (watching the processes in Task Manager) until it runs out and Explorer crashes.

It doesn't seem to happen with other video file types.

Here's a video of the COM Surrogate error I get every time I open a folder with mpeg 1 and 2's in it:

It only happens with mpeg videos. So, I smell a rat in M$' part. It seems like mp4's are now M$' darling. So, it's making life hard for mpeg owners. Then again it may be my codecs.

    More testing in progress.....

Nope. I tried updates, newer drivers, etc. No Go still. Explorer crash crash crash.

Friggin Micro$haft...... This is one of the times when I'd like to don on my Mac/Linux alter egos and shove a boot up M$'s piehole. Ahhh geeez.

Is anyone still using Build 7000? I got it on this laptop I'm using now. I used the Orbit30 utility to remove the timebomb and it hasn't expired yet when it was supposed to expire yesterday. Dunno if it's stable though; my mom reported BSOD on my desktop which also has Win7 b.7000.
