    *shadow, hindi ko sinasabi na nag-iimagine ka. yup, yan nga nakalabas sa status pero hindi nangangahulugan na yan nga ung tunay mong speed. tulad don sa link na binigay ko, port speed ata o ung default speed ng modem ung dinidisplay pero hindi nangangahulugan na un talaga ung speed mo. tulad nung sabi ni rmean, hanggang 56k lang talaga ung kaya ng mga dial-up....

    are you using an external modem? serial i think? because that's (115kpbs) the max speed of a serial port. The connection of your Modem to the port, not your internet speed.

    internal modem gamit ko, baka nga port speed lang, oh well... time to upgrade na sa dsl...sa office namin sa binondo naka dsl ako, kaso dito s bahay wala pang line ng dsl, ang available lang is smart bro, kaso marami ako nababsa na complains kaya ayaw ko magpakabit ng smart, and another thing is meron pang wire namangagaling sa roof papuntang pc,

    Try mo muna i-check kung may wifi signal jan sa area mo. baka meron kang kapitbahay na mabait na naka open infrastructure. hehehe

    Galing ako sa Smart BRO. Smart Wifi pa nga nun, worse than HELL ang experience ko dun. I'm using BayanDSL/SkyDSL now. Its been 5 months and no problems so far.

    dial-up connection speed is really limited. maski sabihin mong 56k ang modem mo, hindi mo aabutin yan, mostly, you can get at most mga 45 kbps lang. limitation kasi ng phone lines yan tsaka ng receiving modem.

    ako what i do is just connect to the internet using a 3g phone. i can get at most 700 kbps, which is somewhere faster than PLDT and Smart bro connection. (hanggang 384 kbps lang).
