to all techies: Q regarding dial up speed

Go to Control Panel
Click Phone and Modem Options
Click Properties of your Modem
In Extra Settings of Advanced tab enter "AT&FX"
Click Change Default Preferences
In Flow Control drop down list, choose Xon/Xoff


bumilis talaga yun connection as much as 5X pero the problem is hinde naman ako maka connect sa mga website...ano bang nangyari paki explain kung ano ginawa ko and kung bakit bumilis pero puro error pag magopen ka ng website...thanks

yun pag check ko sa icon ng connection ko, before ko gawin yun for example 50 kbps lang ako, then nun ginawa ko yun naging 115kbps.... pag nag open na ako ng explorer, tapos punta sa site error na parang hinde maka connect...

well, I guess talaga yata kailan ko na magpa DSL dahil kung ano-anu nababasa ko para bumilis ang dial up...oh wel...

alam ko naman na walang pagasa bumilis dial up, kaso gusto ko lang malamn kung ano yun ginawa ko....

umabot ng 115!? AFAIK hanggang 56k lang ang kaya ng dial-up, so impossible na totoo ung 115k na nakalagay don...... correct if im wrong....

nagulat nga ako eh? kaya tinatanong ko kung ano ba yun ginawa ko...yun mga naka dial up try niyo yun steps na post ko...tapos restart niyo comp tapos connect kayo sa dial up provider niyo bibilis pero hinde maka connect sa mga site..

or baka diyan mo rin nakuha ung steps. hehehe. port speed ata ung dinidisplay.

saka baka eto ung reason kaya hindi ma display ung sites.

there is an "obsolete" technique/technology where TWO modems are used to connect to the ISP simultanously. There was even a internal modem card with two built-in modems. It basically doubles the available bandwidth by using two telephone lines. I have experimented with this and it does work. Downside, you need two phone lines.
