Formula One musical chair...
Nico Hulkenberg is to leave Force India and join Sauber next year.
And Mexican Esteban Gutierrez, the team's reserve driver, is tipped as a partner for the German, which would leave Kamui Kobayashi without a seat.
Mexican Sergio Perez, Kobayashi's team-mate this year, is joining McLaren to replace Mercedes-bound Lewis Hamilton.
Ex-Toro Rosso drivers Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari are vying with former Force India driver Adrian Sutil to be Hulkenberg's replacement.
If he loses the Sauber seat, Kobayashi also has a chance to go to Force India but is likely to have to find some sponsorship to secure the drive.
Sauber have not yet officially confirmed Hulkenberg but the deal is understood already to be done.
Team principal Monisha Kaltenborn has said Sauber will announce their 2013 driver line-up "before the end of the season".
Gutierrez's potential promotion would come at least partly at the behest of Sauber's Mexican sponsors - the team has a relationship with the country's billionaire business magnate Carlos Slim, who Forbes magazine says is the richest man in the world.
Force India are keen on taking back Sutil, the German who lost his drive at the end of last year following his conviction in January on assault charges following an incident in a nightclub after the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix.
Sutil drove for the team through their various guises as Midland, Spyker and Force India from 2006-11.
But there is pressure from some quarters for the team to take Alguersuari, who was dropped by Toro Rosso last year despite an impressive 2011 season.
The Spaniard has spent this year as a test driver for F1 tyre supplier Pirelli and as BBC 5 live's analyst. He declined to comment on his future.
Buemi, Alguersuari's team-mate at Red Bull's junior team from 2009-11, is also in talks with Force India.
He, like Alguersuari and current Marussia driver Charles Pic, has also been linked to Caterham, where the futures of both Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov are in doubt.
The team are keen to keep Kovalainen, who has driven for them since their debut as Lotus Racing in 2010, but the Finn is equivocal about staying.
"The most important thing is to keep the focus and make the best out of what I've got," he said.
"Then at some point... I'm getting old and if I want to be successful and win races, I have to look at the options.
"I think the team is doing the right things to move forward. We should be doing better than what we're doing. At the moment, we don't have any deals with everyone. We're talking."
Petrov is having difficulty finding the sponsorship he needs to secure a drive from his native Russia despite the country being poised to host its maiden grand prix in 2014 at the Winter Olympic host city of Sochi.
McLaren believe Webber will move over for Vettel if need be
Oct.13 (Reuters) McLaren’s Jenson Button dismissed, with a broad smile and theatrical nod of the head, Red Bull rival Mark Webber’s chances of Korean Grand Prix victory on Saturday if it means denying his teammate Sebastian Vettel a vital points haul.
Australian Webber will line up on pole position on Sunday with team mate with double Formula One world champion Vettel alongside.
Vettel is four points behind Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, with five races remaining; he is 56 ahead of Webber.
Asked whether he expected Webber to ‘ride shotgun’ for the German, allowing Vettel to pass and build up an advantage while keeping others behind him, McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said that he doubted it.

I think Nando was conserving his tires for a late push against the Red Bulls, while Massa was pushing. They pitted about the same time, I think.
Fastest lap still went to Webber, though. Had the Ferraris just been a little faster and put more pressure on RB, tire degradation would have forced RB to pit or retire.

From wiki, bro....
Rory Byrne - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
How heavily involved he was,- we don't know,- but this is news to me.....In 2012, Byrne was involved in the design of the Ferrari F2012 Formula One car, as well as the Ferrari F70

^ Yun na nga eh, baka hindi naman kasi puspusan ang involvement kaya mabagal yung gains to make Ferrari very very good.

BBC Sport - Sebastian Vettel set to join Ferrari in 2014, but Massa stays for 2013
Sebastian Vettel set to join Ferrari in 2014, but Massa stays for 2013
By Andrew Benson
Chief F1 writer Double world champion Sebastian Vettel is set to join Ferrari in 2014, with Felipe Massa remaining with the Italian team for next season.
Sources inside Ferrari say they have signed a contract with Vettel, with an option for the German, 25, to join in 2014 depending on results.
The contract is likely to identify a position Ferrari must occupy in the title race at a point in 2013.
Vettel's potential arrival at Ferrari has been sanctioned by Fernando Alonso.
The Spaniard, himself a double world champion, has a say in the identity of his team-mate and vetoed the idea of Lewis Hamilton joining the team earlier this year.
Alonso, 31, won the world title in 2005 and 2006 when at Renault but has not finished higher than second with Ferrari.
Vettel currently leads the world championship by six points from Alonso, having won the title in 2010 and 2011.
Should the German move to Ferrari, their line-up would undoubtedly be the strongest in F1 - but with potential for huge friction.
Vettel and Red Bull have denied the driver has any arrangements in place with Ferrari, Red Bull insisting he is under contract until the end of 2014.
However, Red Bull adviser Dr Helmut Marko - the right-hand man of the company's boss Dietrich Mateschitz - has already said the contract contains performance clauses and Red Bull could not make him stay if Vettel wants to leave.
Hamilton has recently signed a three-year deal to join Mercedes, Alonso is under contract to Ferrari until the end of 2016, while Jenson Button is under contract to McLaren until the end of 2014.
Massa's future had been in doubt during the summer after a shaky start to the year, but Ferrari were determined to retain him as long as he finished the season strongly.
The Brazilian, 31, followed up a second-place finish in Japan - his first podium for two years - with another strong race in Korea at the weekend, qualifying sixth and finishing fourth - 6.2 seconds behind Alonso.
Vettel's team-mate, Mark Webber, is on a one-year deal until the end of 2013 and could well retire at the end of next season ahead of the introduction of new chassis and engine regulations in 2014.
Massa is expected to be confirmed in the Ferrari seat for 2013, his eighth consecutive season with the team, in a matter of days.
Team boss Stefano Domenicali said of Massa after the Korean race on Sunday: "Very good, I'm very happy.
"He did an excellent race and an excellent qualifying. But I have to say he's [been] doing an excellent job since a couple of races, so this is really very promising for the end of the season.
"And if I want to anticipate the next question that I'm sure someone will ask, very soon you will know what will be our position in that respect.
"For sure, he's understanding now better the car, he's understanding better the tyres. We believe that he's a very, very strong driver, there's no doubt. Otherwise we would already have taken a different decision."

Official: Massa remains at Ferrari for 2013
16 October 2012
Ferrari has confirmed that Felipe Massa will be staying alongside Fernando Alonso for the 2013 Formula 1 season. The Brazilian met with company President Luca di Montezemolo after the Korean Grand Prix in order to sign the new deal.
The much-awaited confirmation, viewed as highly unlikely by many F1 fans and journalists alike at the start of this year, came via a four-line statement on Tuesday.
The short Ferrari statement reads as follows:
‘Scuderia Ferrari announces that it has renewed its contract with the driver Felipe Massa to the end of the 2013 race season.
The Scuderia’s driver line-up for next year is therefore made up of Fernando Alonso and the aforementioned Felipe Massa.’
Massa’s imminent future has been decided by his strong results in recent races, having struggled to make an impression in 2011 and the first part of the current campaign.
