Who had the fastest laps during practice? Was it Ferrari or Mclaren? But then again practice performance is not worth its weight in salt. Teams may be purposely trying to hold back to hide an advantage.

Anyway, even with the feud (imagined or otherwise) between Hamilton and Alonso, Hamilton still needs Alonso to jockey for position between the 2 Ferraris at the start of the race.

Notice how Hamilton's 2nd place quickly crumbled at the race start when he doesnt have the point man to back him up. If Alonso qualified at a better position, he could have at least prevented Raikkonen from stealing 2nd.
