And so, the SOAP OPERA continues: Alonso: McLaren favour Hamilton win

Hmmm I read the link, and at no point was he whining or being controversial. He was just being truthful. Mclaren is a British Team with Hamilton a British driver and racing in its home Grand Prix so its not unexpected that they will throw they're whole support for Hamilton on this one.

He did mention that Mclaren gave they're full support to him (Alonso) during the Spanish leg of the Grand Prix so at least he's implying its a given for any team to support its national driver.

However of course Ferrari (particularly Massa) may have to say something about that...

I don't recall being the threadstarter for this Silverstone GP.

Saw at ESPN that Silverstone is already sold out since 2 weeks ago. It's just amusing that there are always a lot of people in red and waving the prancing horse flag even in hostile territories.

FA is still young,- I am sure he will mellow down with age.

Notwithstanding, I'd still prefer that the back-to-back world champion would soon learn how to keep his mouth shut especially on an already controversial issue that he himself has started, because not everyone would interpret it his way. He will just earn the ire of some of his believers. IMO, bad move for an F1 icon.

Watching the live timing at formula1.com....

Outside of McLaren and Ferrari, after the second leg of qualifying it's the Toyota of RS.....

Wow! Great race from Raikkonen/Alonso. Raikkonen deserve that win for even if Alonso had gotten out to first on the second pit stop, he would have had a fight on his hands since Raikkonen was more than a second faster than him.

Too bad Massa started at the back. If he were in contention, the mix up with the other 3 leaders would have been more exciting.

Anyways I find it strange that Massa started from the pits. I saw other races were the stalled cars were allowed to have their engines restarted at the grid. When was the rules changed for this??

Also, napansin nyo ba na parang nag-usap na si Hamilton/Alonso? For even though Hamilton got the pole, at the post qualifying interview Alonso remained cool and coy and mentioned he had the race pace for the race duration? Seems that Mclaren purposely had Alonso on the heavier fuel load in expectation of a longer stint so that he could grab first. Too bad it was spoiled by Raikkonen.

I think the pole was just for show to satisfy the English fans whoe attended the race.

Anyway if Hamilton had won he would have broken the drought after 11 yrs since an Englishman won in his home grand prix. (No wonder the crowd was expectant)

Remember that The Curse went wide into the gravel on the last turn and yet he still ended up P1, before Hamilton took it away from him. This means Ferrari had the pace to be on top. It's an equal match-up so far. I hope this becomes a spoiler for the Britons. Ferarri 1-2!!!!
