this is a true 320kph run, and the car that did this is a the new porsche 997 GT3 the driver is also a very experienced driver, did some time on track and races, a real professional race car driver so he knows how to handle and has been in this situations before

the car is really fast, got to ride on it on the way to filinvest, reached 280kph in no time

it now joins the autoplus GTR, Ford GT and 993 Turbo that recently hit the 200mph mark
ah hokei, i forgot about the GT3. those cars are damn fast

i wasn't doubting the video, my only point was that speedos are notoriously inaccurate at that speed. like when i took my e46 up to a speedo-indicated 139 mph when the speed limiter should have kicked in long before that.

but even 300 kmh is ridiculously fast

Yup yup... even abroad they were "only" reporting of hitting 300kph with the 997 GT3. By the way, the 997 GT3 is officially rated to "only" 310kph.

I'd give a 3-7% error for the top speed of European steeds (though to note, Japanese vehicles have a higher rate of error - even up to 15% - at even slower speeds).

But whether it is 300, 310 or 320 kph that is a great feat IMO. In comparison, C! Magazine was "only" able to run a 996 Turbo to 286kph at the Skyway.

As to them running it in the Skyway or NLEX, I guess the Skyway is "safer" for those high-speed runs since you can monitor the ingress & egress of other vehicles from the Skyway. Unlike the NLEX wherein every now and then, there's an idiot running at 60kph at the overtaking lane.

As to whether it is mayabang or irresponsible or immature - well, kmo already verified that they made sure that there was no other vehicle in the Skyway. Plus this is a Porsche 997 GT3 and not your run-of-the-mill vehicle that would already be hard pressed to remain stable at even 180kph.

hindi kaya mas delikado dun since kapag pumalya ang control mo possible na bumagsak ka sa baba?
kung sa NLEX naman, cguro meron na lang talagan mag momonitor every 1km para sa mga other motorists.

Not doubting if the speed was real, but if the guy was a pro driver why was he doing this on a public road? Any responsible pro driver who has seen what happens in an accident at those speed wouldn't have done it on a public road regardless of what car or safety measure your group took to make sure things were clear. A tire blowout could have made him lose control and sent him flying through the rails only to plummet on innocent people or property below. As most true pro race drivers have said they drive with caution on the road because they can't tell what other drivers are thinking. But they drive fast on the track because it's safer and they can better predict how other pro drivers will react to bad situations. Just my .02 cents.

+1 on this. A true professional driver will never race on a public road.

If the people who organized this "event" had money to buy a Porsche, then why can't they reserve time on a racetrack?? Why do they have to do it on the Skyway?? Speed limits have been put there for a purpose.

They made sure na walang ibang mga motorista sa skyway.....mas ok sana kung kumuha sila ng permit to officially close the whole skyway from public motorists for high speed testing purposes.

I was indeed VERY impressed..but nonetheless, illegal pa rin diba?

Arrogant wannabe F1 driver on public road + inept law enforcer + other engot drivers = accident

^i was just poking fun guys, but on a serious note - do you think the TMG could mobilize quickly enough to set up a roadblock down the highway? the whole thing was over in seconds and he covered a hell of a lot of ground. he could also easily take an exit and lose himself right after the high speed run.

if they can act quickly enough to set up a stop, then i've underestimated them...

    *M54...
i know you were just joking about the first comment .no harm done

im not familiar with PI's police squad and/or what kind of vehicles they can dispatch for such short notice.i also dont know exactly how long the highway is but basing from an experience i had before(loong time ago)
me and some friends were heading to houston for a car race/show.coming from new orleans..theres a 5-10 mile bridge on I-10 going towards houston.there were roughly 20-30 cars of us friends driving and we decided to race on the bridge since we figured that no cops were gonna get on the bridge(1 entrance(start of bridge) and one exit(end of bridge) only) low and behold..3/4 down the bridge..a helicopter started to flag us.we didnt expect anything of it and thought it was just some rich guy watching the race from above.guess what??....at the end of the bridge...a road block full of local cops and interstate troopers .everybody was mad(including me) but now that i think about it....it counts way up there with the stupid things i did in the past.

I've been through that route (on the way to Florida for the 1994 World Cup). Shame on you. Be careful. That area is a redneck/cajun area. I hope you never fill up at the (only) gas station by the bridge/elevated highway. It's redneck-owned and boy, did I get a lot of stares.
