September 4th, 2011 03:03 PM #175Love and Respect eh? Then your knowledge is very Limited.
In the Bible, God says it is fine to Sell your Daughter as a *** SLAVE:
"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again." Exodus 21:7.
Is is fine to TORTURE those who serve you, as long as they don't DIE:
"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property." Exodus 21:20
In the Koran, God says it is your duty to AMBUSH and KILL non-believers of Allah, so the 9/11 Terrorists were just doing their Duty:
"Kill those who join other gods wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them and lie in wait for them with every kind of ambush." Sura 9:5
The more you read the "Holy Books", the more you understand why the world is what it is today.

food for thought?
what's to wonder about?
Christian Roman emperors (like Constantine) forced pagans to convert. that's why there are many pagan beliefs, traditions and holidays integrated into Christianity... made it easier for pagans to accept Christianity
google the origin of Dec 25 Christmas day

September 4th, 2011 03:49 PM #177Ever wonder why the devil is depicted as having horns? They got it from Pagans as well. When Christianity spread its tentacles across Europe, they eventually encountered the Celts. The Celts worshipped a nature deity called Cernunnos...the horned God. Nature deity. Preserve nature. Aba masama yan! Dapat Diyos ang i-worship at hindi ang kalikasan! That's the devil! THE DEVIL I TELL YOU!

You can't take the bible word for word. As I posted earlier, its better to talk to a theologian, someone who studied the origin of those words and what they actually mean. AFAIK, its like poetry, may hidden meanings, irony etc. Moreover, it should be understood in light and in line with the changing times. Anyway, basta hindi puwede word for word ang pag-intindi dyan which I admit even some priest are susceptible to do.
And yes, my knowledge of world religion is limited. Who isn't? Sorry ha kung noob me dyan. All I know was from school, hindi ko naman masters yan or doctorate. hehe, I'm happy with what I believe.Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
