I do love the US but I am not the most pro US person here, and I am not mad. Serious question talaga, aabot ba sa third world state ang US and what is the timeline? I hope it does not happen in my lifetime. Also, when the US empire crumbles, so hindi na USD ang world reserve currency, CNY na ba?

looking back i think the US really started to decline after the 2008 financial crisis

the years that followed lead to the rise of Trump (coz many Americans didn't recover after that... many are very unhappy)

I see Trump as a symptom of serious problems inside America (Trump is a populist he exploited the unhappiness of Americans... used it as a platform)

Trump articulated the causes of Americans' unhappiness (losing jobs to China, losing jobs to immigrants) which Americans gave a big nod

eh ung globalization and immigration liberal policy so Trump blamed the democrats kaya dami kano galit sa mga democrat

kaya naging presidente si Trump

pansin mo itong 4 years ni Trump -- deglobalization (trade war / tariffs / bring jobs home) and immigration (deportation of illegal immigrants, stricted immigration rules, building the wall)

that's why i call Trump an inward-looking isolationist

sa pag-rereverse niya ng years of liberal policy a side effect of that is the US is pulling back from its international role

what is it? it's being the leader of a world order established after WW2

the US maintains bases around the world to maintain the global order that we are so used to

it costs a lot of money so Trump tells NATO allies "hey pay your fair share" which has put a strain on their relationship

Putin couldn't be happier (Putin hates NATO he loves to see the alliance weaken)

basically ang point ko, aside from being a symptom of US decline, Trump is also an accelerator of its decline

the US loves using its currency power to sanction countries (when you cut off a country from the dollar system, that country's economy collapses)

coz of that there are countries that exploring ways to trade without using USD

masyado ginagamit ng US ang kanyang sanction power and that's forcing some countries to find ways around that

I could see where the Americans are coming from, nakakainis naman talaga democrats. For example, it's so hard to immigrate to the US and then you hear of illegals getting benefits. What the hell?!?! And I hate the PC culture! I was surprised that majority of my immigrant friends in the US are voting Trump because yes they hate the democrats, they don't exactly like Trump.
