in a situation where there's a lot of dollars coming in, there's upward pressure on the local currency

to prevent the local currency from strengthening too much, the central bank can print local currency to mop up dollars

the central bank has unli firepower coz they can print unli local currency

opposite situation where too much dollars are leaving

the central bank can sell dollars but the central bank cannot print dollars so limited firepower

as i was saying

don't wanna end up like those countries that run out of dollars
