What do you expect from those squatters? Di sila makaka-gawa ng okay na strategy. Kaya wala silang asenso. They deserve to be there, down there.

this thread is asking for a solution

    thats the solution!

it is just a simple problem that demands a simple solution

what makes it complicated is the politics behind it ganun lng kasimple yan!

Sounds more like trolling to me than a solution.

criminal tingin ko sa ganito, and we still glorify these types ...

What will the government do? Remove the tax on diesel completely (even though it is already subsidized for PUV drivers) and have no budget to run the country next year? Increase fare prices to the point that commuters will not be able to afford to go to work?
Simple. Suspend the R-vat. The government must not rely to much on indirect taxes like value added taxes. Masakit sa mga maliliit na mamamayan yan. Because all transactions (regardless if these were done by rich or poor) are slapped with the same tax rate.

The government must raise its efficiently in collecting direct taxes (imposed to those who have the ability to pay) such as INCOME or CORPORATE taxes to get more revenues. Dagdagan din ang taxes sa mga luxury goods at non essential goods such as jewelries, cigarettes, liquors and beers, luxury cars, non-essential gadgets, condominiums etc...

Mga mahihirap pagbawalan bumili ng liquor tulad ng Tanduay at Ginebra bilog at manigarilyo. ala ng makain pinang-iinom at binibisyo pa..Hulihin on the spot....joke...

There's a simple solution, really, to this simple problem. Cut down PUV registrations. Sa daming colorum na PUV sa kalye, at sa sangkatutak na approved lines per area, sino bang di maghihirap... if you have twenty buses going after the same twenty passengers on EDSA (I see this a lot)... obviously, something's wrong.

With all due respect, its not an easy solution.

With lack of available jobs in the Philippines (including OFWs who came home and just invested in jeepney operations: Katas ng Saudi)this is the most viable livelihood alternative...

    its a complicated problem actually.

Walang hintayan, walang gitgitan, walang traffic (well, meron pa, pero mas mabilis).
Im praying for this also. But can it really be done especially in Metro Manila?siguro in the provinces especially in areas not yet saturated by public transport...(kaya lang hindi nga lucrative)

With more that 3 or 4 bus companies competing for the same route nagkakatraffic at bumabagal din kasi nag-aagawan sa pasahero...

Solusyon. Government must give alternative jobs to Pinoys so that they will not just opt to drive jeepneys, buses and tricycles...

mukhang maganda mag-invest sa oil ngayon ah! oil prices will not go down.... that's reality....

I agree with all that you said except govt must give jobs. Govt. only provides freedom for each and every one of us to use our minds productively.

the problem with people who seek livelihood in the transport biz, tamad mag-isip ng ibang pagkakakitaan and parati pinipili [i]the road most travelled [i] ... in this case literal talaga, Philippine roads

Agree here. The world economy in general, is driven by the price of oil and oil products. So, the EVAT that our national government charges, may be used as a safety net by them (by lowering the EVAT rate or worst case, eliminating it) for any surges in oil prices. And, concentrate on collecting taxes somewhere else (luxury and vice taxes), to compensate.

Increasing the basic wage is not the answer, because you cannot revert to the old level if things get better, as this is against the law.... With this, we become less competitive, too....

This government loves to hit investors specially local investors everytime their stupid policies backfire

For instance, the government's low priority to agriculture and industry resulted to our weak agricultural and industrial sectors are either limping with lack of new investments, poor infrastructure government subsidy and almost decimated by imports...

Kahit ano pa sabihin nila, with all their press releases...delikado na talaga ang ekonomiya natin...it will collapse...

Anyway, instead changing the policies, they resort to penalizing the following...

...farmers, households, retailers of rice and even blaming other countries (hay naku....) except the inutile DA and NFA and partly PhilRice and UPLB for the rice crisis.......

...forget about IRRI, it does not care about the host country. it only cares about how it can serve its benefactors.........

....local and foreign investors by reducing the coverage of Investment Priority Plan ,investment perks and incentives, protective tariffs, and safeguards instead of blaming the lack of a coherence and focus of the DTI, DOF, BOI, BOC, NEDA.... for the weak industrial production, no new investments and reduce exports..

...although partly to blame, MERALCO and other IPPs and electric firms.. (this is the danger of giving the utilities sub-sector to private firms) for high power rates.....whereas its the infamous royalty, evat-rvat and the inept Napocor is the culprit)

    Hay naku....
