yeah...i agree...mukhang impossible nga ang world peace.

by the way..my definition of "respect" nga pala pagdating sa religion is "accepting that i cannot make them believe what i believe". kung baga, i dont make them "see the light". hindi yung "respect" na..."wow..galing ng paniniwala mo ah..." or something to that effect.herherh

FXT: Yun nga eh, how can you accept without denouncing what you believe in?

BTW, napapanood nyo yung babaeng monk na kalbo dun sa DA AI channel? Puros humanitarian projects lang pinaguusapan, I think that has a much better cause than showing all the preaching, reading and worshipping that Catholic/Christian/Muslim/Iglesia channels are doing...

i just feel helpless cause i dont have what you have....thanks glennster!

let's not be contented with "thy will be done", "god has a plan" thing. talk to him and make him stop. you are sons and daughters of the so called father....No father can say NO to a sincere heavenly request from his son or daughter. amen?

there can't be multiple truths, kaya may deep-rooted conflicts that can never be solved unless you convert others to see your way
i maybe OT but i suddenly recall the wisdom from an elderly... i'll just give an analogy & i hope it'll make sense.

madaming route papunta ng monumento coming from alabang di ba? pwedeng via edsa, taft, slex, coastal, etc.. in the same manner sa bawat route (e.g. via taft) pwede kang mag jeep, taxi or lrt.. in the end, kahit ano pang route or sasakyan mo (mabagal man o mabilis, malapit man o malayo, or whatever), what matters most ay meron kang alam na paraan papunta sa gusto mong paroonan and more importantly ay umpisahan mo at kailangan mong maglakbay para makarating doon.. peace po sa lahat...

Good read... religion and war writeup..

    http://www.everystudent.com/wires/justwar.html

In fact, people who call themselves religious pluralists believe they have a virtue that the Dalai Lama or I do not have--they believe that their viewpoint is the correct one, and that our views are erroneous. So try as we might, we can't escape truth-claims in religion. But the question is: how will we treat people who disagree with us--with dignity and respect or as enemies? Disagreement can co-exist with respect. I myself attended a Muslim mosque for two years, and I was blessed to meet many wonderful Muslims and to eat in their homes. Tolerance doesn't mean accepting all views as true (which is impossible, since we don't truly "tolerate" those who don't agree with our pluralism); it means putting up with what we take to be erroneous or false in another person's thinking but respecting the person's right to think and choose differently since he has been made in the image of God too.

I've always liked the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

"Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

And the part in the Lord's Prayer:

    ...Thy Will be done...
