This is it my friends! Pray and talk to god to stop the massacre in lebanon and israel..children and innocent women are dying everyday. Tell god to stop his chosen people from killing innocent children...well you can't really tell god what to do right? but what does the verse mean when it said ask and you shall receive...everything you asked in my will be given, etc......maybe jesus can do something about this mass genocide.

No offense meant on this thread but i believe this is a good time to talk to the almighty instead of asking petty things.

I've wondered about this as well, the whole benevolent/omnipotent thing, I don't get it with the Christian God, Allah and all other "above all might" dieties...

Ika nga sinabi ni Mark Twain

"Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion--several of them.

He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven....

The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter. I wonder why? It seems questionable taste."

But City, my friend, you need to understand this as well...

"The easy confidence with which I know another man's religion is folly teaches me to suspect that my own is also. I would not interfere with any one's religion, either to strengthen it or to weaken it.

I am not able to believe one's religion can affect his hereafter one way or the other, no matter what that religion may be.

But it may easily be a great comfort to him in this life--hence it is a valuable possession to him."

    hmm...who will win?

the Israelis are the Chosen of Jehovah, while the Hezbollah are Allah's freedom fighters.

if the divine powers cancel each other out, then i pick superior weapons, tech and tactics to win everytime :D

ah the irony....since the real root of this problem is religion. but i always pray for peace, love and understanding.

We are widely misudertood. Not too many people know how we think or what we do. The point is parehas lang tayong mga tao.yung iba naniniwala..kami walang paniwala. It's always nice to see diferrent views di ba? And it's very sad to see some view different views negatively. I'm always amaze how people view things differently but to see them react negatively to different views? Kinda sad.

to a believer, no explanation is needed.

to a non-believer, no explanation will suffice.

God does not need to talk to us the way we talk to Him.He has His own ways so let Him be. He does not need to explain anything to us. ika nga..tanggap lang nang tanggap. patayin na niya lahat ng mabuti sa mundo...tanggap parin. because He is God. and we are just His "tools".

unfair?? who told us that life is fair?

Hehe David Blaine to ah hehhehe...

Question lang din, if a person truly respects another person's religion, does their god fall under your god's "domain" sa "master plan"?

This isn't an issue of faith so much so an issue of "how can there be more than one god?" aspect of let's say the Christian God and Islam's Allah... Hindu libo-libo kaya ibang issue na yun, si Buddha sitting pretty walang paki masyado.

I'm with you here... Kaya hopeless ang Pinas pag nagkagera hehe.

hmmm... interesting question that's kinda damn if you say "yes" and damn also if you say "no"...

if the divine powers cancel each other out
i guess, in a way, the above is true...

and after all the questions have been asked and all sorts of discussion have transpired, the end result will still be...

to a believer, no explanation is needed.

to a non-believer, no explanation will suffice.
imo, just "pray" (i.e. as most people call it) if you believe and if you don't believe, then i wish you peace

theveed: parang kay blaine ko nga narinig yun...herherh.pero sa teacher kong pari din nanggaling yan from a book ata.

anyway..yung question mo about does their god fall under our God's master plan... i dont think i have the liberty and enough knowledge to answer that. but my humble opinion and belief is that different peopleS (many groups of people) have different truths lalo na pagdating sa religion. given that religion=truth... so...feeling ko depende narin sa tao kung naniniwala siya doon.

nakaktuwa isipin na ang mga "kabarkada" ko sa trabaho ay from different countries and religion...and lack of it. ako isang catholic...kasama ko si adham na muslim. at si jon na nanay ay devout catholic pero siya ay isang aetheist. nakaktuwa kasi may isang matandang greek na gustong gusto pag usapan ang religion pag nasa staff room.

pag nag dedebate kami, hinding hindi namin naririnig ang mga katagang "MALI YAN" (pertaining to the other's belief/religion)...ibig lang sabihin, may respeto sa paniniwala ng isa't isa at tanggap ng isa't isa ang "different truths" na sinasabi ko kanina....
