Teri Onor, an openly gay comedian of the Eat Bulaga variety show, has been proclaimed vice mayor of Abucay town in Bataan province, earning the post via a landslide electoral victory.

QTV television's Balitanghali on Thursday said Onor, or Dexter Dominguez in real life, was sworn in alongside his grandmother Ana Dominguez Santiago who won the mayoralty seat.

The report said Onor was elated with the win and vowed to focus on health care for Abucay folk during his incumbency.

In a previous interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Onor said that, "Dream ko talagang maging politician. At saka yung family kasi namin is into politics talaga."

Congrats to Teri. Sana mapaglingkuran mo ng maigi ang mga taga Abucay, ngayong Vice-Mayor ka na. Siya lang sinwerte sa mga EB candidates.

Yung 2 itlog ng Eat Bulaga, si Anjo, talo at si Balimbing Sotto nasa 16th -18th place sa Namfrel Count. Balik na lang sila sa EB. Samahan nila si Vic at Joey kumanta ng "Ang Pakpak" then, makipaghampasan sila ng palanggana sa ulo kina Wally at Jose.

To be able to serve his constituents better, I think Teri Onor should resign from EB. My view is that public service is a full-time job, so he should just concentrate now on his new post.

In fairness, may pinag-aralan din naman si Teri though not particularly in the field of public service. He was a batchmate back in College. And also, yung angkan nila are known political figures in Bataan.

Dexter Dominguez a.k.a. Teri Onor

Dexter Dominguez or Kuya Dex for his family members and closed friends hails from Abucay, Bataan. He studied Computer Engineering in Adamson University from 1990-1995. During his college days, he was active member of the Tinik ng Teatro. He was elected Associate Artistic Director of the group before he left for professional theather. His passion for Theater Arts flourished when he joined the Gantimpala Theater Foundation under Maestro Tony Espejo. He has done several big productions for Gantimpala before hitting the stand-up comedy bar scenes. Dexter is now known as "Teri Onor" after being spotted by Director/Manager Andrew de Real. Mr. de Real saw him perform a mind-boggling song number at the Library. At that time, he was just an ordinary customer.
Teri Onor charmed the Filipino masses with his impersonation of Movie Superstar Nora Aunor. Today, he's been enchanting television viewers with his regular stint in Eat Bulaga, the nation's unbeatable noontime show in GMA 7. He is also a mainstay of the sitcom Lagot ka, Isusumbong Kita with Richard Gomez and Raymart Santiago, S-Files and the soon-to-be-aired Love to Love scenes with Ms. Jolina Magdangal.
With his busy schedule, Teri still finds time to share his talents with his fellow Adamsonians. He hasdirected numerous stage plays for Tinik ng Teatro and was a Seasoned Workshop Speaker and Trainer for the group and the Adamson University Alumni Associations, Inc.

Sana nga lang magampanan ni Dex ang lahat ng expectations ng kanyang mga kababayan and also set an example or ibahin ang trend regarding sa mga artistang mga nanalo sa election. May he keep his word as Public Servant.

Since vice mayor sya, he could still be in the showbiz or other business. As a vice, he would not be very active and just preside the council and just wait for the mayor to resign, be terminated, be disqualified, or die.
