Now that the USA and Israel have struck Tehran with their cruise missiles, chances are oil prices would be more than that of the current price increase projections slated for next week.

I think it's the other way around. The Epstein files are the distraction. Hindi naman credible evidence yun eh so nobody is ever going to get convicted. But while everyone is so focused on the files daming kalokohan ginagawa concerning far more important things. New START treaty is expired and not getting renewed, so are they re-MIRVing the nuclear ballistic missiles? Is a deal being cut with China for them to join a new treaty? etc. etc. but no one is talking about these kasi puro Epstein files nasa isip.

government is bracing for a Php3 / liter increase in oil prices next week. They are already meeting with oil companies hoping to convince them to implement a staggered increase instead of a "one time, big time" increase

Add to the mix the depreciating peso versus the dollar and double whammy na tayo. Looks like the BSP can no longer defend the value of the PHP against the USD

suwerte mga USD earners, kawawa mga PHP earners

There are even higher estimates of as much as +12 pesos for diesel and 6 pesos for gas.

Traffic going into or out of the Strait of Hormuz is stopped, reportedly due to insurers suddenly cancelling everyone's coverage because of the elevated risk.
Maritime insurers cancel war risk cover in Gulf: Will it spike energy cost? | Energy News | Al Jazeera

Tanker traffic from 50/day down to zero. Even if the US and its allies are able to establish a corridor through which ships can move, this pause is certainly going to be felt.
Marine tracking data shows oil tankers '''down to zero''' in Strait of Hormuz - ABC News

Might be about to change though. Iran's navy reportedly no longer exists.

Even without a navy (it was never that big to begin with, baka nga mas marami pa yata tayo na assets), the strait is so narrow, and they still got a lot of drones and rockets.

Have a friend who went almost all EV/PHEV for his fleet of cars, also has an oversized solar setup with battery storage. Charges at home using excess solar power and all that. Must be feeling pretty good about that investment right now.
