Sa passenger cars ba mataas demand ng diesel?

Sana meron fuel station magtroll na mas cheaper ng 1peso gaso sa diesel.

mas malakas ang demand for middle distillates like jet fuel and diesel

there's a lot of light distillates coz refineries across Asia are producing so much but demand doesn't match

Pero, bro.,- karamihan ng mga gasoline stations- nag-implement na ng TRAIN....

Kaya diesel ay halos P40/L na, at ang gasolina, halos P50/L na....

Diesel is cheaper because its less refined but worse come to worse it will subsidize gasoline

    generally true.
but the ff also affect final pump pricing:
    1. type of crude. crudes from different sources have different composition. hence, their final product percentages also vary.
    2. the politics of pricing. government and other entities, slap on various "costs of" into the final product.

from what i understand, in the phils, the relatively higher price of gasoline is partly because it is subsidizing the lower price of diesel.

Right now there's simply too much gasoline but demand isn't strong

Diesel demand is stronger than gas for now (globally)

Too meet demand for diesel, refiners process more crude oil but they cannot avoid producing gasoline in the process

So gasoline stock is building up kaya under pressure ang price by gasoline

yes product yield depends on the type of crude you process

Heavier crude yields more diesel than the lighter variety

Opec production cut is more on the heavier variety

Canada is also cutting supply (Canada also produces heavy crude)

Venezuela also produces heavy crude which US gulf coast refiners process

So now there's less supply of heavy crude kaya tumataas ang presyo ng Maya (Mexico), Mars blend (GoM), Western Canada Select

Brent is now below USD 60.00

Saudis Pledge Even Deeper Oil Cuts in February Under OPEC+ Deal | The Edge Markets

The U.S. is currently “way oversupplied” with its own output and with oil from other Western hemisphere producers, Al-Falih said.

“So, as we look at the oil market, and we see it in the price differentials, it’s really not rewarding us to export a lot of oil to the U.S. And as a result, as we make adjustments, it makes commercial sense that that’s the market that gets the majority of our cuts.”

Saudi Arabia and like-minded countries are determined to drive inventories below the five-year historical average, he said. “We’re going to do it by ensuring that supply is below demand for 2019."

    Risk-off sentiment

Weaker-than-expected quarterly earnings and guidance from Caterpillar (due to China economy slowing) caused the selloff in risk assets (including crude oil)
