May the souls of the victims rest in peace. On the other side, they are already "free", they sufferred but they'll go to heaven while those people in Maguindanao are still living in hell.

It all began about three weeks ago with a Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution directing the transfer of the Comelec Satellite Office from Cotabato City to the Provincial Capitol in Maguindanao.

    Ampatuan charged with multiple murder

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Datu Unsay mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. has been formally charged with multiple murder.

Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera, together with Chief State Prosecutor Jovencito Zuno, performed the inquest at the General Santos City airport Thursday.

If proven guilty in court, Ampatuan will be jailed for life without possibility of parole.

Ampatuan is the prime suspect in the killing of at least 57 people, including 18 journalists, Monday morning when a political rival – through his wife and supporters – was set to file his certificate of candidacy for Maguindanao governor.

Among those killed were at least 20 journalists accompanying the convoy, in what media monitoring groups have labelled as the worst-ever single attack on journalists anywhere in the world.

"he was TURNED-OVER to the authorities".

World’s Press Appalled by the Massacre of Journalists in Philippines
    http://www.wan-press.org/article18309.html
The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has expressed absolute dismay and condemnation of the horrific massacre of 12 journalists, in an attack on a convoy in the southern Philippines which killed at least 46 people.
In a statement, WAN-IFRA, the global association of the world’s press, called on the Philippine government to urgently investigate this monstrous attack and bring its perpetrators to justice. The association said an "unprecedented" government response was necessary, in a country with a long history of violence against journalists and civilians.

WAN-IFRA condemned a "climate of impunity" in the Philippines, which is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists. Nineteen journalists have been murdered since the beginning of the year, including the 12 killed in the recent massacre. According to reports, at least 24 journalist murders have gone unsolved in the Philippines over the last decade, and more than 100 journalists were killed since 1986.

PARIS, November 24, 2009 (AFP) - France on Tuesday strongly condemned what it called an "appalling" political massacre in the south of the Philippines in which at least 46 people died.

"France condemns in the strongest terms the appalling massacre yesterday in the Philippines," a foreign ministry statement said, adding that it was "essential" that next year's national elections be held peacefully.

Inquest proceedings at the airport will take place as soon as the Ampatuans' lawyer, Sigfrid Fortun, arrives. Fortun flew to Cotabato City Thursday morning and was fetched by helicopter for the trip to General Santos City. Formal charges of multiple murder are expected.

"I'm sorry" this time is unacceptable from GMA specially pag kumanta na ang mga Ampatuans regarding 2004 election anomalies in Maguindanao. It will be 'lose-lose' or 'no' win for GMA now that the entire world is watching.

THREE DAYS na ang lumipas after the massacre. Memorize na nya ang magiging linya na. "I AM INNOCENT OF THE ACCUSATIONS HURLED AGAINST ME."

If there's a silver lining to this grotesque incident, it would be for the elder Ampatuan to finally reveal the hocus-pocus in the 2004 presidential elections and bring down PGMA and her cohorts in the process.

The Philippines now holds the dubious world record of having the most number of journalists killed in one incident.
