I know that when a person goes to Mass, its a sacred matter
between him and God and shouldn't let the behavior of other people
bother him. But I'm just human and I cant help but feel irritated
by this rude and insensitive behavior of some churchgoers.

Pag dating sa "peace be with you" portion ng Mass, ilang beses
ko na na-experience na yung katabi (after greeting them with a nod
and a smile) ko, hindi man lang ako pinansin and reciprocate the
greeting. Usually, they are quite busy kissing their wife and
children. OK lang naman ito pero after kissing your familymembers,
dapat naman you should turn to the person beside you and give them
a warm greeting.

mo. Hindi man lang mag eye-contact at medyo naka-simangot pa.

Ako naman during this portion of the Mass, I also give attention
to my family first by kissing the wife and kids. But from my
peripheral vision, I take note of the person beside me (also front
and back). Pag mag-greet na sila, I make it a point to reciprocate
And I always do
it by looking the person in the eye tapos by acknowledging the
greeting with a nod and a smile plus the words "Peace be with you".
Is that so hard to do?

Sorry for the rant but I just feel disappointed. I had hoped
that people would be more brotherly and friendly inside the Church.
It seems that rude and insensitive people are the same wherever they
    may be.

I don't mean to be rude, its just that, baka others like me don't want na mapahiya din sila pag may binati sila eh they won't return the gesture.

Medyo alangan lang akong bumati during the offering of peace when I'm in a different parish. Eh sometimes, naabutan ng weekend sa Mall or other places, kaya napapadpad kami sa St. Ignatius Cathedral (Camp Aguinaldo), Our Lady of Perpetual Help (13th Avenue, Cubao) or Good Shepherd Cathedral (Fairview). But I do return the greeting of others.

Medyo mahiyain lang kasi ang Pinoy.

but the priest says "Let us offer each other the sign of peace, Peace be with you" then we say peace be with you to each other, di naman sinabing to your family member only. well madalas din mangyari sa akn ganyan, either yung katabi ko kissing his/ her family member or gives me the poker face. ok lang i still say peace be with you, ala na tayo magagawa sa maling asal nila. pero minsan kakatawa din yung iba deadma ako ng immediate na katabi ko but the a manor woman 3 seats away smiles at me and say peace to me. i smile back and nod. hehehe

i attended a catholic charismatic before tagal na rin.

I noticed the same, though me and my wife always make sure that the person beside and in front of us are also greeted.

Kaya nagulat na lang ako, nu'ng bigla na lang akong "yakapin", sabay sabi "Peace be with you" (with a smile), nung katabi kong chick.

    Shoppesville tuwing Sunday (11AM).

Pag dating ng "Peace be with you", talagang rine-require niya

When its consecration time, pag hindi ka lumuhod, titigil siya

Although I must admit na medyo extreme siya, but OK rin. We
need more priests with "personality" kasi marami na rin pasaway
    na churchgoers.

Dude iba ang culture dito ganyan talaga. Ang mga tao sa manila most of us hindi naman talaga friendly compared sa mga tao sa Bayarea. Sa Bayarea pre at sa Florida isheshake hands ka pa pag peace be with you.

    It's a culture thing.

They might not be fortunate enough to have a maid or yaya to take care of the kids while they go to mass? These are somethings that we take for granted.
