seriously. i've been to shanghai, china last week and i think this form of government works. people there are disciplined and most services are operated by the government. ang sweldo ng tao is almost the same (except perhaps to some people working in multinational companies, in which, in their case are joint ventures between MNCs and local Chinese companies, so controlled pa rin ng government ang operations ng MNCs).

nag tour din kami sa shanghai ang beijing last july. natanong namin sa tour guide namin about the corruption in their government. ito ang sagot nya: the family of chairman mao zedong (the first head of state under communist rule) is very poor, and so is the whole of china. the family of deng xiaoping and jiang zemin is rich, and so is the whole of china. you be the judge.

For our motoring public: Ban the jeepneys for being detrimental to the environment. Cancel existing franchises of public bus operators and have them re-apply so that they can prove their financial capability. Raise insurance requirements for common carriers. Ban bus terminals along main thoroughfares. Impose a higher tax on vehicles that are 10 years or older. Raise penalties for traffic violations by 300%, with corresponding charges to be filed in court. Appoint BF as DOTC chief.

For our public safety and order: Demolish and relocate all squatter colonies along the estero and along the railways. Since the catholic church is so vehemently opposed to demolition...have them donate 50% of their owned land for the benefit of squatters' shelters. For the economy and welfare: Revive tourism through advertising. No strikes, especially by militant labor groups. Make the church run schools offer more scholarships...since they are also vocal about education for the poor.

First and foremost, if I will have the chance is to cleanup the government. Punish and humiliate those corrupt officials and death will be the finale. If you have good governance, everything will fall into the right place and you cannot achieve that without cleaning your own backyard first. :x :x :x

Tingin ko ang isang magiging Presidente ng Pilipinas ay dapat maghalukay sa pinagmulan ng kulturang Pilipino.

Karamihan sa mga ugali ng mga Pinoy sa kasalukuyan ay bunsod ng maraming taong pagkakasakop sa atin ng mga banyaga.

Dapat maghabi ng mga pamamaraan at mga batas na naaangkop sa kulturang Pilipino.

Gaya ng corruption at mga lagay lagay sa mga nasa kapangyarihan, may mga nagsasabing galing daw iyan sa mga Espanyol. Malasin ninyo ang mga bansang nangagsasalita ng Espanyol medyo kahawig natin ang ugali.

Ang pakikiaalam at impluwensiya ng simbahang Katoliko, maitatagni natin iyan sa mga panahong tayo ay nasakop ng mga paring Espanyol at mga Kastila. Aliping "timawa" at "saguiguilid", kung inyo pang naaalala ang ating mga nakaraang aralin sa elementarya.

As an asthmatic, I'd have a 1000% tax on ALL tobacco products. Maybe even 10000%. Something the common person would never be able to afford. I'm sure people will protest, especially the tobacco companies and their employees, but I'd be happy to see the tobacco industry burn to the ground (pun intended). While such a scenario this would create HUGE unemployment in the short term, it'd be good for everyone in the long run in the form of a healthier, more efficient workforce and huge healthcare savings. Pulmonologists can then put more of their time and effort on more meaningful work, instead of trying to treat a smoker with lung cancer.

I've already been successful in the past as a six-year-old child in convincing my parents to stop smoking.
