Higher Philhealth contributions starting this month | ABS-CBN News

MANILA, Philippines - Contributions to the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) are increasing this month.

Self-employed workers will now have to pay a monthly contribution of P150 from P100. For those who are employed and earning P8,000 and below, they will now pay P87.50/month instead of P50/month.

For those who are earning between P8,001 to P34,999, the contribution rate is still 1.25% of their salary.

For those earning P35,000 and up, their monthly contribution will now be P437.50/month from P375/month. The increase will also be the same for employers as their employer contribution.

Greg Rulloda, PhilHealth vice president, says the increase is worth it since more benefits will be given to workers and more will become members.

For employers, the benefit is having a healthy workforce.

PhilHealth says the list of illnesses covered will now include heart ailment for children such as enlarged heart, cervical cancer, artificial leg and heart bypass.

So far no advice from Philhealth if they will increase their funding for local health centers despite the upcoming increase in the contribution.

Philhealth president Alex Padilla is so dumb he have guts to sue hospital who will not honor Philhealth members. Where does he get's his guts to state so when the hospital should be one suing Philhealth for not paying it's debt. This sucker is really a failure with only being the son of former Sen. Padilla as his credential to be a political appointee. Used to be Customs chief and see where is customs until now.

He should be the one explaining why is Philhealth debt filing up? Where is the money of Philhealth? Why it took them 6 months and only after being threatened would they know and react they owe lots of hospital. This idiot is just sitting in the comfort of his office collecting salary & benefits milking the agency. This idiot should be fired.

Funny thing lumabas sa internal investigation Mr. Rustico Jimenez even cited a hospital na may alleged backlog payable daw ang PhilHealth to find out na there's no such hospital naman.

Matindi kasi ang tandem ni Rustico Jimenez and Kabayan Noli kaya panay tirada, baseless opinion that pollutes the public mind.

Tinatanong ko nga yung mga kakilala ko sa legal bakit hindi pa idemanda ng kung anong kaso applicable kaso management decision nga daw yun.
