He became rich because he married a rich woman.

The PCIJ report failed to mention that Aquino’s rise in net worth from 2004, an election year, to 2005, was a mere Php63,000, less than his accumulated salary as a legislator for that time span. Using data provided by Aquino’s staff, I calculated that the average rise of Aquino’s net worth per year from 2000 to 2007 was 4.35% . Considering he is a minor stockholder in eight companies, this appreciation could be described as miniscule at best.

To use the data provided in the PCIJ report, wherein Aquino started out with a net worth of Php8.42 million in 1998, and ended with a net worth of Php13.94 million in 2007, his rise in net worth for almost a decade was a mere 65.6%.

Compare this to the rise in the declared net worth of Manny Villar, which started out in 1992 as Php75.43 million and which rose to 481.5 million in 2002: in a decade of public service he has managed to swell his declared net worth by 538%, more than six-fold the amount of when he started out as a congressman in 1992. In 2007, after 14 years in the government, Villar’s declared net worth has risen to Php1.05 billion, a rise in 1,292% from his assets in 1992.

In that same Political Ad, Villar claims he would have just remained a business man if he really wanted to get rich...really?

di mo parin alam kung paano sya yumaman?

naranasan mo na bang maligo sa basura?

naranasan mo na bang matulog sa kalsada?

here's the real reason why Manny Villar became so rich...

a book entitled Credit Derivative Strategies by Rohan Douglas which was released by Bloomberg mentioned Manny Villar in page 30...

    http://books.google.com/books?id=1o0...age&q=&f=false

then you add the P6B+ C5 at taga...plus...marrying a daughter of a rich businessman...then you get a billioner Manny Villar.
