FROM A PURELY LEGAL POINT OF VIEW, i agree.
1. Pemberton has already served the minimum sentence prescribed by law
2. He is elligible to a reduced sentence, for good behaviour
3. He was a first time criminal, not a recidivist

Remove the politics. Remove the international relations. Remove the false nationalism and false patriotism. Just look at the case as it is. I am anti-du30, but i agree with this decision.

I was thinking maybe duterte is trying to spite china by now openly cozying up to the americans. After all, he's been duped by beijing consistently w/ regard to the covid19 vaccine snafu, financing of the much hyped bbb projects and the west Ph sea issues ( fishermen killed in maritime incidents, sovereignty mishaps w/ fishermen & the chinese coast guard at bajo de masinloc, etc). He's probably feeling like a foolish jilted lover.

Plus the president said the other day he's going to invite doh's duque to have a vacation & visit the spratley islands w/ the americans. A far cry from his usual anti-american rhetoric .

On another note, i learned last night that the afp informed congress that they're planning to acquire 5 c-130 aircrafts soon. Who do we go to for purchases like that?

Also quite incidentally, the victim's family was suddenly paid Php 4.6 m in civil damages as mandated by the court just last week . This was after years of delays due to one reason or another. I guess there's been a lot of horse dealing being done in the back ground lately.

Pemberton's early release is just really being blown out of proportion, wala naman talaga mali since he is eligible for early release nga and wala bawal sa ginawa ng pangulo. He did his time, paid his dues. OA lang mga LGBT community imho, withouth considering na nanloko din naman talaga si Laude kaya nga ganyan nangyari. Pinapalabas nila na innocent masyado si Laude which is not true.
