*Duterte Resign petition trends, various personalities sign up*

In a little over 24 hours, the “Save the Nation! Duterte Resign!” petition has gathered more than 21,000 supporters on internet site change.org, with “Duterte Resign,” “Save the Nation” and “Sign the Petition” all trending on social media site Twitter since yesterday evening.

The petition, initially signed by more than 500 medical frontliners, members of the academe, artists and journalists, youth leaders, religious, lawyers, civic leaders, businessmen, labor and concerned citizens, was posted as a petition at the change.org site (Petition * Save the Nation! Duterte Resign! * Change.org) and made public at 10 a.m. yesterday, April 15.

Among the signatories are jailed senator Leila de Lima, Manila Auxillary Bishop Broderick Pabillo, activist nun Mary John Mananzan, national artist Bien Lumbera, Twitter sensation Nuelle Duterte, corporate bigwig Edgar Chua, former COMELEC commissioner Gus Lagman, Rock-Ed Philippines founder Gang Badoy, Inquirer columnist John Nery, vlogger Aling Marie Dinglasan, renowned photojournalist Ezra Acayan, multi-awarded sculptor Toym Imao, chairperson of the US Filipinos for Good Governance Loida Nicolas Lewis, filmaker Raymond Red, singer Bituin Escalante, writer-actress-director-producer Bibeth Orteza, singer and stage actor Rody Vera, and critic Katrina Stuart Santiago.

Among the showbiz folk who signed up were mother and daughter actresses Pia and Saab Magalona, Jaime Fabregas, Cherry Pie Picache, Nikki Valdez, Sharmaine Buencamino, Rody Vera, Isabel Lopez, Leo Martinez, and acclaimed director Joel Lamangan.

Among the health professionals and workers who signed were: renowed pediatrician and epidemiologist Dr. Benjamin Co, medical anthropologist and Inquirer columnist Gideon Lasco, forensic pathologist Raquel Fortun, Doktor ng Bayan’s Dr. Eleanor Jara whose husband cardiologist Raul Jara died of Covid-19, Dr. Edelina de la Paz of the Health Alliance for Democracy, and Dr. Gene Nisperos of the UP College of Medicine.

Also in the list are lawyers Howard Calleja, Tony La Viña, Alex Lacson, Edre Olalia and Maria Sol Taule; labor leaders Elmer Labog, Leody de Guzman, Luke Espiritu and Antonio Flores; Moro leaders Harroun Alonto Lucman, Datu Abdelwin Sangkula, Samira Gutoc and Amira Ali Lidasan; and members of the Makabayan bloc in Congress.

Filipinos for Duterte’s Resignation is calling for a “*Sabado nights”* online rally this evening at 8 p.m., urging the public to use the hashtag *#PalpakResign*.#

Some of them are grass-roots and spontaneous. Whats nauseating are politicians jumping on the bandwagon with their tarps and photo-ops. Then you get the likes of Roke not getting the point that this is a slap in their incompetent faces that we are now left to fend for ourselves.

But yun talagang makikinabang diyan Kahit anong tulong mo sa mga sa kanila, walang pa rin silang makitang mali kay duterte. Kaya let them feel the consequences of their stupidity.

Huwag na tulungan mga yan, umasa sila kay duterte.

I have more contempt for the so-called "learned" ones, those who feel intellectual, those who keep ranting about "haughty. Imperial Manila". The poor and uneducated ones, they were guiled. But those who knew better and yet still supported/continue to support the regime, sila ang dapat pandirihan. too bad some of our fellow tsikot members na DDS had to experience the craziness of this regime the hard way before they woke up.



Note according to the artist, the sleeping puppy has no "hidden meaning"... Its already too plain to hide hehe.
