so many parallelisms w/ the duterte - chinese infra build partnership that's currently happening - especially now that the new centennial water source - kaliwa dam project has been virtually greenlighted by the president himself.

It Doesn’t Matter if Ecuador Can Afford This Dam. China Still Gets Paid.

“China took advantage of Ecuador,” said Ecuador’s energy minister, Carlos Pérez. “The strategy of China is clear. They take economic control of countries.”
Mr. Borja and other officials were staggered by the terms on Chinese loans. Most came from a large state-owned lender, the Chinese Export-Import Bank, which had high interest rates and required Ecuador to use Chinese companies in construction, effectively eliminating competition.

Also...i don't recall any past DoF secretary ever sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. Bakit nakikisawsaw sa water crisis na wala naman kinalaman sa finance?

70% tax rate ata pinupush nya. Why would you do that? Sabi ni vox good daw yun. But I doubt. Masyado complex ang mathematical modelling ng econ. Hahaha

    Magdedescend na sila to anarchy.

Seriously? Sa Germany napakataas ng tax for single, 42% iirc, aabot almost 50% kasi may other tax pa such as church tax pero ang ganda naman ng benefits sa Germany. 70% in the US is RIDICULOUS. No wonder I have family and friends na die hard Republicans.

Oh okay. But that's still too much even for the top 1%. May ibang country ba na gumagawa niyan? I hate Trump but I'm starting to hate the Democrats even more

Gosh. Mapa Pinas at US, parehong sablay politics. I wish I could just migrate in a rich low population European country. Hehe.

Correct. It's for the super rich. Yan daw yung optimal point. But I really doubt the fundamentals behind that.

*cathy, siguro ang problems shouldn't be identified as "democrat" and "republican". Mas naniniwala ako sa middle ground.

AOC is a redistributionist and she's popular

she's able tap into something (the same way Trump was able to tap into something -- resentment towards the liberal agenda -- immigration, political correctness, environmentalism, gun control, etc)

AOC tapped into the resentment towards the rich

that resentment has been building up due to the large wealth gap / wealth inequality / income inequality

AOC is popular among American millenials not only coz she is also a millenial but coz her ideology appeals to American millenials

    why?

Coz American millenials are buried in student loan debt

American millenials can't afford to buy a house & start a family coz they have so much debt after school

Many are still living with their parents which is unusual in American culture

There's resentment building up towards rich people and corporations

Democrats see an opportunity and are exploiting it

Democrats are moving far left -- towards socialism, Marxism
