Errrr.. What is wrong if there's a lot of CCTV surveillance, US and other countries and sa pinas marami na din di ba? It will deter criminals or if your a victim madali hanapin yung criminal who victimized you. If you're not doing anything wrong, it favors you naman, but if you plan on doing something, then it will be hard for you, dami minsan ako nakikita sa fb, need help if sino meron video ng ganito kasi na rape or na kidnap or pinatay si ganito, need evidence pero wala kasi no cctv on that area, pano yung family ng victim? Walang hustisya, in other countries with cctv surveillance, pag may ganyan, nahuhuli or na identify agad yung suspect bcoz of cctv, like yung Boston marathon bombing, kung walang cctv did you think na kilala nila ang bomber? If not, baka nag bomba ulit ng ibang lugar yun.

October 16th, 2019 10:03 AM #415Haven't they begun already? Takeover. Take charge. Take control. Force others to do their bidding? Aren't the CCP doing that already? Not just in their country, but everywhere they can flex their economic muscle -- and not just with Apple, the NBA, or Activision Blizzard who got "learned" the hard way most recently.
You've heard how so many countries have capitulated to China after not being able to pay loans granted under China's Belt and Road Initiative. Ports and other sensitive infrastructures of sovereign countries now under control of the CCP. It's not a stretch to imagine how this ever-widening net of commercial and economic expansion will lead to ever-widening net of military and political expansion down the road. Some even say what China is doing is very reminiscent of Japan's efforts at Pan-Asianism prior to WW2. We know where that "benevolent" effort led to.
Power corrupts -- you know the saying. Couple that with the motto of the CCP --
"you are free to do whatever you want as long as it’s what I tell you to do"
-- and you have a nice recipe for (world) domination.
Oh lest we forget the immortal words of the great leader of the CCP himself --
"time for this nation to transform itself into ‘a mighty force’ that could lead the entire world on political, economic, military and environmental issues. —China’s President Xi Jinping
Strong, ominous words to say the least.

October 16th, 2019 10:09 AM #416Facial recognition to apply for a phone line? An internet connection? Not instrusive enough, sir? Then might as well put a CCTV in public bathrooms. Need to police that too you know. Lots of ***ual deviants on the loose doing their dastardly deeds in them public bathrooms. We shouldn't mind the intrusion, it's for the good anyways. If you've nothing to hide -- you won't mind showing your private part right? We trust the government will treat those pictures / videos confidentially.
Seriously though, CCTV's are good, but the extent to which they are being used by governments like the CCP is bordering on abuse already. Extremes are bad, way bad. Almost evil.

October 16th, 2019 11:04 AM #417Intrusion is the name of the game for the commies in China. If they can find a way to intrude into your very soul, they will, no matter if you let them in willingly or not.
Chinese app on Xi’s ideology allows data access to users’ phones, report says
"Although they were not able to fully assess the app’s functionalities because of code designed to thwart attempts to dissect the app, the Cure53 auditors found code that amounts to a back door into the phone that is able to run arbitrary commands with “superuser” privileges.
Granting such privileges is tantamount to giving administrator-level access to a user’s phone, and this kind of code is generally considered to be malicious. Superuser privileges give developers the power to download any software, modify files and data, or install a program to log key strokes.
“It’s very, very uncommon for an application to require that level of access to the device, and there’s no reason to have these privileges unless you’re doing something you’re not supposed to be,” said Adam Lynn, the Open Technology Fund’s research director.
“The access itself is significant. The fact that they’ve gone to these lengths [to hide it] only further heightens the scrutiny around this,” he said. "
"A review of the terms and conditions of the app, which was developed by the Communist Party’s Propaganda Department in collaboration with Chinese tech giant Alibaba, show that users must agree to allow access to a vast trove of information and functions. "

October 16th, 2019 10:59 PM #419That's because they see outsiders interfering in their internal affairs. Like you said, CCP is paranoid about losing power so they go to great lengths to make sure that doesn't happen. They strongly believe that any ideological deviation inside China is dangerous. It's all about maintaining power.
China's current geopolitical behavior can be rationally explained by examining its early modern history. To pass everything off as Chinese expansionism is ludicrous.
You've heard how so many countries have capitulated to China after not being able to pay loans granted under China's Belt and Road Initiative. Ports and other sensitive infrastructures of sovereign countries now under control of the CCP. China is pouring billions of investments and what happens if some countries won't or can't pay their debts? China is F*CKED. It's going to cause some serious problems in their economy. Taking over some sh!thole country won't solve it.
This "debt trap" narrative - a story that is based more on fiction than fact - has been greatly sensationalized by the West. Let's take a look at Sri Lanka as an example. Western media often assert that Sri Lanka was forced to give up a port to China after being lured into a debt trap.
The truth is Sri Lanka already had a $60 billion debt, all before the $8 billion Chinese investment came in. Their debt repayment problem has little to do with China since Chinese loans only comprise about 10% of Sri Lanka’s total foreign debt. Another thing is that Sri Lanka agreed to grant a 99-year lease of its port on the condition that it cannot be used for military purposes.
China is seeking to improve its soft power to compete with US because not everything can be achieved by hard power alone. If it's out there scamming everyone then how would it be able to pull other countries into its orbit? That strategy sounds f*cking stupid and doesn't make any sense at all.

October 17th, 2019 12:34 PM #420China / CCP should really stop playing the victim card when it is to their convenience to do so. Just because China has had a difficult "childhood", does not give them eternal rightto keep harking back to it to justify acting the big bad bully it is today.
CCP: "I was bullied when I was a kid, that's why I am the big bad bully today, please understand that you dumbasses." "So stop talking about us -- we're that senstive because of that"
Further, the CCP's self-generated paranoia does not grant them blanket power to tell their neighbors how to act towards them, as if their neighbors are also their subjects. They should know their bounds, but I guess those bounds, to their mind, is limitless, now that they have all that excess $$$$$$$$$ to play with -- the world is not enough, right sir?
Yeah right, sir, thosoe loans are purely for economic reasons. I lend you money, you pay me interest, you get good infra. Everyone happy. Win-win, right?
Only problem is those loans, unlike any other loans from any other country, come with very "special conditions" and some countries are stupid enough not to read the fine print. Or read between the lines? While some countries are just happy someone is even lending them money -- poor and policially volatile countries.
CCP: "I have a lot of stake on this, so please understand these draconian conditions I am imposing on you."
Conditions like -- Chinese workers will start and finish the project. Makes CCP's Chinese subjects all the more happy (an employed subject is happier than an unemployed one, no?). This also works in the CCP's favor because at the same time it is lining CCP's pockets with more $$$$$$$ flowing back home, it is opening up new markets as their own domestic market slows down.
Conditions like -- If you can't pay, then cede control of the infra over to us. Don't worry if it is not to your national interest/security to cede it. We are benevolent. We will never pull one over you. You can trust us. Right-O.
Also, one would be naive to think this initiative does not involve creating long-lasting military alliances with the borrowers at the very least, or does not
open up any military advantages to the the CCP in the future. That those military perks are the farthest from the minds of the party and would be merely coincidental when they materialize in the not so distant future. To think it is purely economic motivation that drives the CCP to expand over and beyond the original plan -- now that is the height of ignorance, IMO.
How are they "struggling" at home sir? They've brainwashed quite a number already, prolly close to 100% of its subjects.
CCP: "Democracy is not for China" "Democracy will bring chaos to our land" "The CCP is the only one who can bring order and economic stability here" "Chinese Subjects should stay out of politics" " Chinese Subjects should not ask sensitive (political) questions"
Everyone follows. No one dares to speak out. Speak out and we hurt you where it hurts a lot -- your business(es). They are so successful with this kind of subjugation at home, they plan to export it to the whole world, right?
CCP: "Any country who speaks out against our officials don't understand our bullied past, and therefore are insensitive, and therefore should be punished (economically for now, becasue USA is still the bigger bully)" "Later on, any country that speaks out of line against the CCP will be blown to smithereens (when we have overtaken USA to become No. 1 on earth).
Bottomline-- If the USA can't be trusted, China can't be trusted x1000.
