Choice din naman ni BBM to support or not.

Effect to our local manufacturer is shutting down and concentrating in trading/repackaging. Kawawa ang farmers natin and eventually tayong lahat.

MANILA, Philippines — Onions sold for P700 per kilo in markets were bought from farmers for only P8 to P15, an agriculturist claimed on Monday.

coz traders have access to cold storage

prof clarita carlos was eased out of the cabinet na pala. she was replaced by duterte man gen ano. pero she's a fish-out-0f-water nga naman doon in the 1st place. i can see why the military brass didn't agree on her misplaced appointment.

it's interesting how the so-called snake pit at malacanang is currently percolating.

    POOR CLARITA CARLOS
Her reputation for intellectual snobbery long preceded her. Before she burst into the scene to lend her brilliance to Bongbong Marcos during the election campaign. Or at least make it rub off on him, just enough to make him sound enlightened. On world affairs or such profound subjects as Machiavelli.
She made him look brilliant during the debates in which he squared off against four comedians who were lacking in sense of humor, appearing as the one-eyed in the land of the blind, by asking trick questions that amazingly jibed with his codigo. With a little help from the all-knowing and all-seeing Quiboloy, that is.
Then, she disparaged Kakampinks by suggesting the country didn't need brilliant, skillful, competent leaders (contradicting herself), it is enough that they are well-mannered and popular, because they are going to have advisers such as .... herself.
When he won by a landslide, she was amply rewarded with a cabinet post (national security adviser, not quite foreign affairs that she thought she deserved), and she continued hectoring everybody as the know-it-all. Except that the president stopped listening. Her usefulness had ended. Now, he was to take his own counsel - wasn't he "brilliant" as she made him out to be?
The final straw was when she got boxed out of key national security decisions, such as the choice of AFP and defense chiefs.
The honorable thing for her to do was resign. Then Bongbong dangled a job that was a fit for the nutty professor that she was, but was an insult to a proud and eminent academician - an advisory job in Congress that no one ever heard of, tucked in somewhere next to the smoking area, where nobody will listen. Take it she did, because, otherwise, where will she go? She has been retired from the faculty of UP. The top post at the National Defense College she once held was already filled by a retired general who won't give way without a fight.
In getting rid of Clarita Carlos, Bongbong Marcos put to good use one valuable lesson he learned from her - straight out of "Prince Machiavelli". - Wilfredo Garrido

Ring in the old | Philstar.com

Carlos was unsure about what to do with the controversial National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict. Even back then, however, she indicated her belief that the NTF-ELCAC could be considered a success if it is no longer needed.

Progressive groups hailed her views and representatives of international organizations told her they have the same concepts on human security.

From the start, however, I wondered if Carlos could change the views on national security of the defense and military establishments, and whether she could wield enough clout in the Marcos 2.0 administration to effect a sea change in the state’s handling of security issues.

The NSA in this country does not enjoy the same clout as the NSA in the United States, where civilians such as Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski were influential in the role.

Perhaps Carlos’ early pronouncements about her views particularly on the eventual abolition of the NTF-ELCAC drew bad blood.

Carlos told us that from the start, her predecessor Hermogenes Esperon Jr., a staunch defender of the NTF-ELCAC and the Anti-Terrorism Act, had assailed the selection of a civilian with no military background as NSA. Other voices echoed such criticisms, she said.

The criticisms piled up after she appointed two NSA officials, both of whom she eventually replaced.

“From Day One pa lang, aba’y pinagbalakan na akong alisin nitong mga Hudas na ito (These Judases have wanted me out from Day One),” Carlos told The Chiefs last Tuesday night.
