Would you trust your retirement pension to the underachieving son of a former corrupt deposed dictator?

Most probably will end up buying bonds from companies owned by new generation of cronies...

aside from the malaysian 1mdb scam made by their former (convicted) pm, here's another food for thought this time from norway

Norway'''s wealth fund loses record $174 bln in first half of 222 | Reuters

even if the intention is "good", the timing naman is lousy. buti nga umaalma na ngayon ang bsp dahil wala na si diokno sa poder nila. sadyang napaka-tumultuous ng local at int'l economic landscape sa ngayon at sa foreseeable future.

Lol! The GSIS fathead is just reading from a script. You dont use pension funds for investments that do not benefit its members. Period.

Infra projects are best supported by PPAs.

from a Bank perspective, if all depositors want to withdraw their money in a single day, the Bank won't have the enough reserve amount of money because a huge portion of it was invested to grow, and these investment are not liquid [can't be withdraw, sold, etc. in a day nor even a week].

Same goes with SSS & GSIS, Pensions were computed and assumed that not all Retirees will retire [Pension Fund] within a day nor even year. So again, a huge portion of it was invested [Investible Fund].

Like others were stating on SocMeds and News, I believe it is a Trust Issue.

naka invest nga ung pera ng pension fund

and when the money is needed the pension fund will sell investments para maging pera

para may pambayad sa claims/benefits ng members

so pera parin ng members yan

tapos kukunin ng maharlika ang pera at sila nalang daw mag iinvest?

Trust issue? It's the reputation that is in question.

so this is not a Trust issue... Investment is with risk. Yeah, from retail investors friends that I know have losses from these 2-yrs pandemic.

according to Salceda and other framework authors, the fund would be managed by Technocrats, the GSIS head even stated, should be managed by 'Talented', I think he's pertaining to Fund Managers from aboard. Diokno stated about 3% return on Investing abroad, could gain 20% if locally, this is a trust issue if you believe him or not.

if you run a pension fund you can't invest in anything that comes your way

may rules yan kung saan ka pwede mag invest

gov't bonds, investment grade corporate bonds, blue chip stocks...

you can't hand over money to a hustler who promises you he can double the money

    Nahilo sa script na binigay....

Also... may recent ruling ang Supreme Court sa isang case na nagsasabi na nasa batas na gumawa ng SSS at GSIS na kung ano lang mandate nila sa contributions ng members, yun lang dapat gawin nila.

Yes, investment is one of their mandates pero sila lang mag-iinvest at hindi pwede ibang agency or entity. Hindi din sila pwede magpautang. Kaya unconstitutional at illegal talaga na kuning from GSIS and SSS ang funds. Surplus lang dapat which is wala ng tayo ngayon. Baon sa utang eh.

Dagdag bureaucracy pa ito kasi HSIS and SSS are already investing the pension funds naman.
