Is it just me dahil hinde na ako nanonood ng news or read the papers pero it seems masyado tahimik ang govt natin ngayon and nothing's going on. Parang nasa cruise control.

Nakakatakot mga tulfos. Erwin will probably run for senate as well, kaya niya kinuha yan DSWD para maka early campaign na for him and his brother while Raffy will eventually run for VP.

Is he forgetting how his old man used the then PC to clamp down on critics and subject them to brutality? He should be the last man on earth to lecture people on abuses and dishonesty.

    And the aftermath...

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate will implement a lockdown for guests for three weeks starting August 15, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri announced on Wednesday.

The stricter protocol came after Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Imee Marcos, and Cynthia Villar tested positive for COVID-19.

the previous admin increased tax on softdrinks

increasing taxes on certain products work as disincentive

for example taxes on cigarettes to discourage smoking (and taxes collected goes to paying healthcare burden caused by cigarette smoking)

    that's how things works right?

so i don't get this -- "consumers will be deprived of afforable softdrink supply"???

didn't gov't intentionally make softdrinks more expensive to discourage its consumption?

so why is he concerned about consumers being deprived of "affordable" softdrinks?

if he's concerned about people's access to softdrinks why doesn't he demand alisin ung TRAIN law tax on softdrinks para maging mas affordable

Starting January last year, the Philippine government implemented an excise tax on sugary drinks equivalent to P6 per liter for beverages using purely caloric sweeteners and a higher P12 per liter for those using high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), as mandated under TRAIN.Sep 11, 2019

then gov't shouldn't be discouraging consumption of softdrinks in the first place

mas mura, mas madami bibili, mas madami production, mas madami trabaho

if you consider softdrinks companies valuable to the economy you shouldn't be trying to kill them with higher taxes in the first place

    -

ngayon all of a sudden mahalaga pala ang softdrinks companies

    in my opinion,
    it's a private ad, folks.
    it would appear,

someone (whose name appears prominently at the bottom of the poster?), acting as a private individual, is trying to goad some entities into allowing the alleged local-sugar-industry-disadvantageous big sugar importation that was caught red-handed, stopped, and heavily criticized by other entities last week.

    as an aside,
    ... no sugar?
eh, 'di mag coke zero or pepsi no cal!
    hindi pa nakaka-taba.
    heh heh.

    yes i know

the irony is there's so much written and said about the negative effects of softdrinks then here's someone with a megaphone saying "consumers will be deprived of affordable softdrink supply"

hindi ba ok ung magkaroon ng softdrinks shortage?

para bumaba naman ang blood sugar ng mamamayan pilipino for a few weeks

    it depends,
    are you promoting diabetic health,
or are you enjoying some form of compensation from the sale of soft drinks?

pinahirapan ng gobyerno ang kompanya ng softdrinks

    Nov 2018

PEPSI-COLA Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) reported a net loss in the third quarter of 2018, hampered by the impacts of higher taxes following the passage of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.

In a regulatory filing, the manufacturer of bottled beverages posted a loss of P32.55 million in the July to September period, against a profit of P187.85 million in the same period a year ago. This came amid a 2% increase in gross sales to P9.07 billion.

doc, my endo told me I am better off drinking regular soda kasi masama artificial sweeteners

BTW, sa US ang sama ng ingredients nila, ibang iba sa food regulations sa Europe. Kaya siguro daming sakit at obese sa US kasi yung ingredients. BUT they have choices naman, you just have to read labels.

concerned yata sa mga mawawalan ng trabaho pag nagsara mga kompanya ng softdrinks temporarily due to sugar shortage

kung mahalaga talaga mga kompanya ng softdrinks di mo dapat tinatax nang malaki

parang gusto mo malugi at magsara eh

kaya after this sugar shortage is resolved, dapat alisin ung soda tax

to ensure high profitability of softdrinks companies

    did your endo explain why?
sometimes kasi, the reasoning behind it might be somewhat... off-tangent.

US FDA does have some rules that differ from EU FDA's.

daming sakit sa US, dahil hindi sila marunong magpaka-payat.
