nag-renew ako ng license last week, parang nagmahal yata.

    P50 x 2 - notarial fee
    P810 x 2 - firearms bond
P360 - gun safety seminar (na wala naman. i don't know kung sasabihin ko na "salamat at bawas sa istorbo" or "bakit ako nagbayad para sa wala?")
    P800 - registration fee for .40sw
    P720 - registration fee for .380 acp
    P150 x 2 - ID printing

it took 2-1/2 hours to go through the process. also ang akala ko for 4 years na ang license 2 years lang din pala.

BTW, lahat ng tao dun, pati pulis, disagree sa firearms ban. lalo lang daw tumapang mga ogags.

4 years ang lic pagbrand new from dealer. Renewal 2 years.

Parang mahal ang bond mo. 450 lang bayad ko sa bond. Ewan ko lang baka kasi .22lr lang yung sakin. Lic fee ko 360 lang.

    firearm bond 450
    id card printing 150
    lic fee for .22lr 360
    gun safety 360
    notary 50
    parking 20
    total 1390

Inabutan ako ng lunch break nung nagpicture kaya inabot ng 2.5 hours. Dati 2 hours lang.

To fellow FA owners, I suggest you renew your lic by yourself. Just bring a 2x2 pic and the expiring lic card. Its a lot cheaper than going thru the gun store and faster, The gun store charges anywhere from 3500 to 5000 pesos and it takes a long time. If you DIY you will save a lot and get the id on the same day. Its easy they guide you step by step. Everything is done in the same room except for the notary which is on the 2nd floor.

And factor in the surprise element, peolple here in this forum are not cut out for these situations.
You don't need to be a POI. The guy that went on a shooting rampage in Laguna just mowed down everyone he saw. Armed intervention had the potential of neutralizing the active shooter early on. Or at least if you stubled upon him, you would have a ballistic option to protect yourself.

Armed intervention indeed. Neutralizes the active shooter early on. Back in the day, folks from florida came up an outside the box idea to curb high crime rates: Concealed carry firearms. It worked and most states allow such because 2/3 of crimes were stopped by civilian responders.
