Curious lang ako sa mga taga tsikot. Sa mga pangyayari ngayon kgaya ng rallies, destabilization, disunity, agawan ng kapangyarihan, PAYAG BA KAYO sa martial law if it is done in good faith, for the betterment of the country ? Are you willing to sacrifice your freedom if is worth a better future for the country, are you willing to walk through fire knowing your children will live in a better future. Just a thought . No flamethrowers here...

    depende.

dito sa korea nagka martial law sila ng 20 years under a dictator. they call him the greatest president who ever lived.

it was during his reign na pinaasenso nya ng todo ang korea to what it is today. corollarily, during that same decade nag martial din sa pinas. tayo na mayaman na kinaiinggitan ng mga koreano, became poor. whereas sila na sobrang poor, became rich.

pero malabo atang may mahanap tayo na benevolent dictator with national progress in his/her mind.

If under a dictator who is really dedicated to bringing the country out of it's misery, kung matutulad lang tayo ng Singapore, then YES! It would take a really good president more than 10 years to set this country on the road to recovery.

Using rallies as staging point to ouster a president. Frredom of speech that ends up hurting our economy. Minsan tingin ko sa rally wala na sa lugar. Oo nga sa america and other democratic countries practice such freedoms, pero iba dito sa atin. Iba talaga ang PINOY.

not really coz the enforcers are pinoys. kunsabagay kahit yun nahuli right hand man ni Yousef dito sa pilipinas, napagsalita nila. very effective, d'ba? coz pinoys pa ang naka-uncover ng plan to attack the Twin Towers the 2nd time around. The method, nilagyan ng pangkuryente yun nipple nun terrorist, tapos binubuhsan ng isang balde ng tubig every now and then. and that's the PNP committing torture to a hardened foreign national. (got this from National Geographic - behind 911 ata title nun)

just imagine doing that to their fellow countrymen: malamang nga aaminin ng kung sino man nahuli na sya nga pumatay kay Rizal ...

no way, knowing how corrupt our politicians are, sama mo na ring ibang military officers natin at police. lalo lang silang magiging totally corrupt lalo pa if you give them full power,no one will dare go againts them . di naman kaila sa inyo na nagsimula ang corruption nung nakaraang martial law at heto na naman ulit papayag ba kayo?

A dictatorship only works if the dictator isn't a total dick.

I'm against Martial Law. It'll just encourage the leftist and rightist rebels, and inflate their numbers disproportionately.

What we need is a sane political system. The parliamentary system was a good idea... it's much much easier to remove a PM than a President...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

kung martial law lang pinaguusapan, techinically our country really needs it in order to straighten up quickly, yun quickly na yan ilan years under a great leader. I agree with falken, look at singapore parang martial law din pagpatakbo ni lee kuan yew before, what he says goes and within 40 years ata (lang!) of existence look at where they are now.

tayo parang matagal na ata existing, panahon pa ni Lapu-Lapu. If it will take a great dictator years to straighten up the philippines, just imagine how long it will take in our current democratic system.

but looking at the real political scenario and our culture, I think martial law won't work here anymore so i'm against it.

sa Martial Law even the politicians are scared. ok d'ba coz finally makakaganti na tayong lahat sa mga walang kwentang pulitiko. kung dati nakakainis magkipag-negotiate with deaf & insensitive leaders, with Martial Law makikipag-negotiate tayo with the barrel of gun in the middle. san ka?

pag may martial law di naman ata ibig sabihin may curfew, only when the situation or ruler calls for it. ang martial law kasi magdedepend sa dictator na magpapatakbo, extremely effective under a good leader but utterly destructive under an evil one.

sarap din isipin pag martial law tapos magaling ang maging dictator yari lahat ng walang kuentang politiko, mauna na mga nanggugulo sa ngayon

Well, Davy, how would you classify GMA? Effective or destructive (evil one)?

economically? Neutral. That's a lot better than Erap was.
    politically? Very Weak.
    personally/emotionally? Destructive.

If it will minimize the number of corrupt politicians..(corrupt politician = they only think of money, power, popularity, LACK OF GOVERNANCE, etc..)

If they will change the STUPID "Electoral System" and make worth on the tax payers money..and as long it will have a screening process for those only who can be elected..
("Our present electoral system is only good on the times of WAR")

for now it would be a YES..

if it is only for abuse then NO..
