The GOP (another name for the Republican party) had their Iowa straw poll last Saturday... Its the official start to the various caucuses and primaries that will determine who the GOP would nominate to face Barack Obama...

Michelle Backman won that and 2nd place si favorite Ron Paul!

Tim Pawlenty came in third, but he decided to exit the race. Good move, better cut your losses early...

Mitt Romney who is currently the GOP front runner didn't participate he put his efforts to New Hampshire...

Rick Perry, former Texas governor, has entered the race and is believed to be a strong contender...
