2010 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 Li CRDi R-eVGT: 215 KPH last April 2011 at NLEX past 12 mdnite

Not yet on the red line. If you will change your stock tires to at least V rating (up to 240 kph) as it is much safer to try high speed runs with the said tire ratings I think the Santa Fe can hit above the 220 kph speedometer gauge. Outside wind noise was already on the high side after passing 200 kph. I will not recommend trying this speed to anyone. The risk of tire failure will always be there even for brand new tires.

Oh my ayaw ko ng magka-Santa Fe ....Mapipilitan akong mag-200 kph at baka ma-addict akow

Just for curiosity sir, what was your tachometer rpm when you were hitting 215 kph. Are you already above 3800 rpm, incidentally the rev-range where the peak power of 197 ps is located at?

At a published top-speed of 190 kph (set only due to the manufacturers tire limits) for the Santa Fe R eVGT, the computed actual rpm as per gear specs is 3392 rpm.

At 215 kph, RPM hovers between 3,800-4,000 RPM. There are factors affecting actual speed vs RPM, e.g., tire pressure, volume of diesel loaded on tank, how many passengers onboard, with or w/o spare tires, side mirrors (unfolded or folded), rain gutter, stock tires/wheels or upgraded, time of the days, etc. I am not sure what's the optimal set-up for the stock 2010 Santa Fe to harness its full speed potential. I remember my tire pressure was 32-33 psi, 3/4 tank full, I am alone of course, with spare tire, side mirrors are unfolded, and I have no rain gutter. Tires and wheels are stock.

I rarely run above 140 KPH now. I am mostly on economy run at 100-120 kph. This is not only to save on diesel cost but also to preserve the engine, transmission, and other components of the car. One high speed run is enough. But the elusive 220 kph is still in the horizon.

    Best regards.

215km/h at 3800-4000rpm? Parang medyo mataas ah. To the best of my knowledge, the old 150hp Santa Fe is already capable of a 215km/h top speed. Naalala ko may mga SF R e-VGT owners na nagshare dati about reaching 220km/h at may maibibigay pa daw. Maybe you can try it again next time after upgrading your tires!
