Dito satin, the resale value is mostly dependent on how easy it is to maintain and operate the vehicle in question.
Kung hindi mo kayang bilin yung exped ng bnew, chances are youre not rich enough to gas it up. Truth hurts eh?
Basta, puro operational, maintenance and reliability issues ang main factors, IMO.
Of course, may mga exceptions dito.

Masyadong image conscious ang mga Pilipino. Kaya pala mahirap ang naka-Kia, minamaliit ka ng mga akala mo kung sinong sosyal.
But I love my Kia.
Sarap siguro mag-set up ng Rodeo Sport.

Magkano ba ang sportstrac ng ilabas locally? Meron kasi akong nakikita nakapark lang sa kalsada, asking price is 950, eh nag-aabang ako sa 825, ngayon, 2 months ng bilad sa araw..
actually ang pinaka grabe ang depreciation is the F150..bought it a bnew 99 lariat at 1.2 sold it 2002 at around 600..eh suv pinagusapan dito kaya di ko sinama sa unang post.eehehee
kasi dito sa atin yung practicality more than itsura ang basehan sa 2nd hand prices..
tulad ng benz at bmw..dati kasi walang bmw phils. imptd lahat ng bmw kaya ang mahal nya imaintain..so up to now yun pa rin ang impression ng buyers pero i really like a 94 525i mga 600k below na lang... ang nissan cars naman hindi na nawala yung stigma na sirain but their uvs are tough talaga kaya mataas ang resale!.. ford naman its too big to fit most normal homes..and/or ang mahal lahat... daily gas, parts and service ..same goes for chevys..parang 700 na lang ang boxy suburban.

i can definitely relate dun sa F-150. sobrang bagsak ang presyo.
half the price lang talaga ang bentahan.
yung sa amin na-dispose na namin.
pero hindi man lang umabot ng 450K.
pero ok na din. 98 na 4x2 lang naman yun.
tsaka ang hirap na ng maintenance.
hehehe.
balik diesel na lang kami.

September 18th, 2003 02:46 AM #16as in any market, pinaka dependent ang resale value sa supply and demand law.
nissan patrol safari for example: napakadami ang may patrol pero napakataas ng resale. why... kasi easy to maintain. mahal parts pero madalang masira. so ang nangyayari, marami may gusto, kaunti ang gusto magbenta. same with the land cruiser. pero subukan mo benta van. luging lugi ka kasi dami supply. yung mga tinatambak dito na hyundai vans etc...

Hero is right, there are so many enticing 2nd hand BMW's in the market now.

Even here in the US, resale values of Import Cars (most especially Toyota) has always been higher than most Domestic cars.
I was just looking at the papers the other day, a 95 Camry for example would go for about, let's say 6000 USD. The same year model american car 95, would go for about 1 to 2k USD.
