the diesel is combusted by compression (kaya malakas din ang compression sa piston chamber ng diesel than gas engines). And pressure is directly proportional sa temperature. So if the engine is cool or engine temp is low, the glow plug will heat up the chambers such that when you crank it the diesel will quickly reach its combustion point.

It's somesort of spark plug in gas engines. Although once you start the combustion process sa diesel engines you don't need any glow plug function anymore (kaya hindi rin ito nasisira agad unlike spark plugs which need to spark every cycle).

If you're changing your glow plugs, get the original na. I had a bad experience with using replacements with my previous adventure.

AC, sa umaga you can also try to switch the ignition back to acc after the glow plug light goes off then back to on again and wait for the glow plug light to go off again. bale dalawang beses mo papainitin ang glow plug bago i-start ang engine. ito technique namin dati sa l200 ng uncle ko eh.

better get new ones na lang
