guys, baka may alam kayo na ok bilhan ng surplus trucks? like isuzu nkr and canter lang ang laki. not truck ban. medyo out of budget kasi for brand new trucks. yung matibay at maaasahan po sana. remanufactured or reconditioned. marami po kasi ata nagsasabi bulok sa Sobida Motors. how true is that? also, ok ba bumili sa subic?

what are the pros and cons buying at sobida and subic?

we also consider chinese brand like JAC because of its price, but based on the other thread i made, wag daw.

so guys, i need your advice. hindi namin alam bibilhin. share your thoughts, infos, advice or experience to us. thank you

i suggest you to check out the prices of those surplus trucks first. you might be surprised on how expensive those used trucks are nowadays. then decide if going for a brand new unit is worth the extra money.

For some reason, you can also tell how good some of those units are coming directly from Subic are. Pino yung tunog ng makina, minimal vibrations at idle, the paint is original and fresh, the various mechanisms/accessories work well, etc.

Are the trucks at subic already converted to left hand already? Or are they " as is " which would entail your own conversion after purchase?

This thread is very helpful. I'm also planning to buy a truck, tractor head actually. kahit walang flatbed or trailer. I have a couple of questions at the top of my mind:

    1. who will take care of the registration and where will it be registered?
    2. who will transport the truck to the site where it will be used? do they have 'delivery' service?

    TIA!

the ban on the importation of used trucks is not all-encompassing. used ones of certain tonnage are still allowed. the specs are easily down-loadable. i read 'em, but not being a truck-man, have no idea what they look like on the road.

Granted not all are banned, woukd I risk it knowing how fickle minded government implementors are? Cheap is cheap but no registration also means total lost, for parts out na lang unit mo pag nagkataon.

if the buyer wants to play it safe, he can buy the local equivalent.
if he wants to save his capital by gambling a bit, he can look at the EO 156 and see just what vehicles are still legal to import.
    "nothing gambled, nothing won."
