Wala akong katiwa-tiwala sa backing sensor. Hehehe. Ewan ko ba.

Mga Php2K yata sila depende sa model. May audiovisual and may audio lang.

Yung LC II namin undermirror at sensor.

I prefer the underview mirror. Electronics will never gain any trust from me.

I had one installed sa rear stainless bumpers ng Strada ko sa Ginza sa Banawe. They bored holes and installed the sensors. Nakasira nga ng 2 drill bit just to do it dahil makapal and bakal. Buti di na-charge sa akin. He..he. It cost around 3k, Y2k and brand made in Taiwan. Very useful po siya during backing.

How does it work? Does it emit sound pulse (as in beep, beep, beep..) or does it have a bar gauge to estimate distance? Could it identify post/ small trees, etc.?

    How useful?

    Paki- explain naman.

    Tnx!

It both emits a sound gauge and has a small lighted bar meter that aprroximates distance. There are 2 sensors )left and right. The lighted bar meter tells you the obstruction either in the left right or both. :D

masmaganda na ung may beep beep sounds kesa dun sa may bar gauge visual..

para habang umaatras ka pwede kang tumingin sa likod at the same time..

Aside from the beep beep sound, it has a numerical display in the rear view mirror (which they place over your stock mirror) that tells you the distance from the obstruction in meters. Sumisigaw na sya pag mga 0.3 meters na lang ang layo. However, the sensors have to be mounted on your rear bumper, kaya kailangan din butasan yung bumper para makabit. It is quite effective in identifying trees and poles, because the sensors have a wide coverage radius.

Yung sa Crosswind ng kapatid ko, nagpakabit naman sya, gawa ng "Shark". Yun naman, sa bullbar naka-embed yung sensors kaya walang butas sa bumper. Yun nga lang, audible warning lang ang binibigay nya.

Actually, the backing sensor is just a supplement. I use it in conjunction with a convex mirror mounted in my rear windshield. Wala pa kasi ako mahanap na magandang under mirror e.

    Ok,

I've decided to buy an undermirror na lang. Will have it for P550 dito lang malapit sa Petron BFRV.

Anyways, I'm parting with my beloved Pajero.

Why not a back-up cam with image that you can see on your lcd screen. I don't know if anyone in banawe install this. Just a suggestion.
    Sorry for the grainy pics.

    Cheers

Yung gauge, isinabit namin above the rear windshield. Para kahit sa mirror kita ng driver.

    have u tried backing up:

wherein a tree is between the sensors?

the sensors are way below / above the car [lowered] behind you?

wherein an object is in a blind spot of the sensors?

wherein a tree is between the sensors? everyday. there's a tree right behind the area where i park. nakikita sya ng sensor. haven't tried it with metal posts though.

the sensors are way below / above the car [lowered] behind you? lowered, yes --works just fine. it can even pick up the tire guards (yung thingy sa mall that keeps you from bumping your car against the wall by stopping your tires before you get too close) until they enter the blind spot. haven't tried parking in front of an 18-wheeler, so i couldn't say if they work when the vehicle behind is very high.

wherein an object is in a blind spot of the sensors? my sensor can pick up cement columns that are to the left or right of the vehicle. i can't say that i know where its blind spot starts on the lateral plane, pero sa top-down plane, meron syang blind spot.

as always, supplement lang sya sa visual confirmation through the rearview mirror. but that's why i got it in the first place, cuz i can't see everything through the rearview unless i have an underview or convex mirror too... and i haven't found a suitable underview for my ride

question on backing-up sensors?
