Na-interview once yung director nyan dito sa isang TV channel sa HK....and they are expanding....

true. if only the controversial brothers (dealer owners) realize na pivotal ang role nila dito sa Pilipinas ngaun , they'd aggressively market these cars and start a downtrend in car prices in the next years to come. sobra na eh! lahat ng technology equipments bumaba pero itong tsikot pataas ng pataas eh alam na naman ng lahat na hinde na investment ang tsikot tulad ng real estate o expensive stones or gold.

wag na masyado damdamin yun sinabi ng taga-media na nabugbog. if these brothers succeed, yun media nabugbog ang maging antagonist role.

but ok ang strategy nila, ginamit nila SM to introduce their cars. I sure hope Henry Sy would give 'em a push for the good of the masang pinoy hehehe

I would've given them the chance kung di lang sila nanggaya ng mga designs. Sino mangbubugbog, yung distributor nila dito?

    4. Maybe... You cant judge it from the looks.

    5. OOPS! Not literally. As Ive said, you cant judge it yet... you mights swallow what you said.

Im not trying to be with the Chinese side here. Its just not fair that you rate the car bad. Maybe sooner or later, this might be the reason for the Landy's early retirement. Cheap, Durable??? whatelse? I do agree that Chinese are way to famous of their imitations. YEt it brought our lives more easier.

Like Japan, Korea and American Manufactures... The Chinese also have their own strategy. So I suggest that you give them time and understanding.

Maganda nga yung C-Hover. From information I got fron Nexus, this brand is under greatwall. If i'm not mistaken, Greatwall is 100% China government property, so possible ngang under licensed yung mga body mints nila.

Exterior looks good, pero yung fit and finish ng interior, as well as reliability, we might have to give them more time.

Strategy...which is what? to pirate and copy designs of others? Yes its hard to judge it now since wala pa naman mashado makakapagtestify sa durability nito but why the heck do they have to copy the designs made by other car manufacturers.

As others said, koreans have proven their worth thru time and many trials and errors with their vehicles pero I dont remember them copying almost all the designs of car manufacturers just to get noticed.

Para sa akin sobra lang kasi GARAPAL! KAPAL!

    Yun lang po...

actually ganito rin ang sabi nating mga pinoy sa Korean made vehicle long time ago....80's to early 90's....but look at them now...one of the reputable car builders na sila....give them maybe another 10 yrs and they will be equal with Japanese carmakers....in fact some of their line up now is a bit better than their japanese counterpart...

now these Chinese car makers are just starting.... actually that particular company that built nexus started as a motorcycle company in china...much like Honda of Japan...and look what they have now at such short period of time? Give them another 10-20 yrs and they will be competing with the best here asia....

Of course most of the technology they have was a copycat, but thats the way it goes...even Hyundai got something from Mitsu...even Rover of UK had something from Honda....that's free trade and Globalization that's make our world advance faster and better.... di na masyado uso yung mag-start ka ng engine design from scratch..along the way accidentally eh me nakopya ka na pala sa ibang brand...and you spend a lot of time developing and thinking about it na yun pala eh existing na yun...so waste of time and money lang....so it is better and economical to just get an existing working design, buy the right to use it and modify to suit your needs di ba?

and China are taking advantage of that.....

    5speed,
Do you mean that they actually have rights for the design of these vehicles?

I understand may cerain no of years na protected ang designers di ba? Kasi most of their designs parang taken from newer models eh.

Please enlighten kung sino man nakakaalam.

I have no gripe naman kasi in terms of the chinese building a name for themselves pero para kasing talagang halos lahat nalang ay kinopya...parang dvd, vcd, etc..hehehe

First I wasn't also siding with anyone, second understand my posts first, true meaning's in between the line and lastly I know how hard it is to start any business.

ot the pessimist/optimist post was just different reasons people use to defend/promote their cars, I just put a twist to it.

your post was truly the first sensible post ever on this thread.

Pero yung quality ng interior very plasticky and finishings are not so good. Yung upholstery, kitang kita yung rugbies tapos yung waviness ng leather, parang madaling madali ang paglagay nila.

Hindi naman sa linalahat ko pero yan ang problema na nakikita ko ngayon ditto sa China made stuffs, walang sense of responsibility, kaya doubtful ang quality and reliability.

We might have to give them longer time before they can mature in that area.

Regarding copying the design of other car makers, he-he-he, notorious ang China dito, gaya ng isang car manufacturer dito sa China na talagang ginamit nila yung isang pyesa (sabi nila isa lang) ng VW sa sasakyan nila. Tapos meron isan brand dito, yung QQ, na from top to bottom, pwede mo i swap yung pyesa dun sa pinagkopyahan na Chevy car. They might be paying royalty fees for the copied designs but then again, they may not....

Actually as far as I know it varies from country to country...depende sa agreement nung host country at International Manufacturer...lalo na kung me local partner yung international manufacturer. For example, we are a German firm here in HK but we have to tied up with a local company with the same business interest to get a big tax incentives, instant factories and hassle free of getting people (well that's why I got hired)...etc.....but in return our partner may use our technologies (the one that we've introduced locally) as well for their own benefit and vice versa....mutual gain for both company's benefit ika nga..... at sa pagkakaalam ko ganon din sa China ang ruling...baka nga mas matindi pa sila dahil iba ang gobyerno nila.....we have factories din naman sa china but yung local counterpart namin ang nag-aayos ng mga legalities so di ko masyado alam.....

I've nothing against China cars so long as they are actually licensed versions. Not just cheap knock-offs.

Licensed Chinese Nissan Patrol GQ = pretty ok
SR-V, the CR-V look alike slammed on top of Mitsu drivetrain and glued together using parts from various manufacturers = not ok.

It's obvious that they are just banking othe CR-V's style. Para nga namang masabing mukhang naka-CR-V ka. Never mind that it is nowhere near a CR-V. The Nissan Patrol is a fully licensed vehicle and the translation from Japanese to Chinese was largely uncontaminated. Though at the moment, I don't think they have TD42 engines and are still using the Nissan inline6 (which is also the engine designed for use in the Patrol).

How an LC80 with a 118 bhp inline-4 will drive is questionable. The 155bhp inline-6 used in the real LC80 was just adequate for its intended purpose. The gasoline Fuqi all terrain does make 160bhp but fuel economy won't be its strongest suit. Both engines are derived from Nissan engines, btw.
