It uses an Isuzu Fuego body/ pickup bed combined with a D-max front end.

The Chinese Hiace to be sold by Nexus is believe to be made by Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co.
In 2001, Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co. signed a cooperative agreement with Toyota Motor Corporation. Something to offset the knock-off Nexus models?

Would people buy these?
They can always go for a used "authentic" Isuzu D-max or Toyota Hiace, it would probably cost almost the same anyway.

PS: how much are those horrible looking pickups?

i have seen the interior sa greatwall website, these nexus pick ups uses the isuzu fuego dashboard also. the other suv they have is a lso a copy of the isuzu wizard. grabe, halo halo ang design nung isang pick up which uses the frontier headlamps with fuego bed and body, tapos meron mukhang strada na prado. siguro mga subcontractors ito ng isuzu, etc.. sa china then they used the molde ng mga parts ng isuzu, toyota, mitsu, etc. to produce these "hybrids". ano kaya engines nila? i believe yung iba is mitsu sourced. ok narin sana pang masa pero and mahal pa rin ng pricing. malabo yata mag flourich ito. kung mura sana oks na.

yung 2.2L gas at 2.8 turbodiesel, alam ko Isuzu engines ang mga yun. yung 2.4 gas sa Hover, same yun ng engine sa Outlander at Space Gear.

yung 3.2 turbodiesel sa "All-Terrain", di ko alam kung san galing...

Galing sa Nissan Diesel yung engine ng All Terrain at N 4X4 hindi mo yata nakita nakasulat yan sa mismong makina ng All Terrain.Yung Hi Ace na dataring dito ay based sa Jinbei Haise Underservant Standard na may 4G64 2.4 liter engine na makina ng Mitsubishi:

I think ang target market nitong SUV's,vans at pickups nila ay provinces at malamang may bumili rin dito sa Manila area tutal malaki ang price adjustment nila sa April(150-400k price decrease) kaya ok narin...I think ok lang sa lineup nila ay yung Hover(kahit medyo poor ang quality ng interior materials),NX4(Alterra ng walang pera) at All Terrain(no kidding binibigay lang saamin to ng 1.4M pero poor ng interior quality)Nexus succeed here?Maybe i guess if they improve thier price and bulid quality ng vehicles nila....

I don't think nagagawin ng Isuzu yan dahil ang engines at platform naman nyan ay galing sa kanila mismo except yung engine.N 4X4 ang pangalan ng D-Max look alike nayan at marami pang ibang pickup manufacturers sa China na mukhang D-Max!!

I saw one the other day owned by a politician. I thought it was a Prado up front. But the back looks like a pick-up with a campershell. The driver told me na HONDA daw yong new car ni "sir". Tawa na lang ako.

it's ok naman kung may bumibili na ng mga china made vehicles like the nexus. as long as it's safe on the road at wag mandadamay. this is particularly good bec. if nexus becomes competitive here, downtrend na direksyun ng prices ng mga popular car brands.
hindi na tama yun sobrang taas ng prices ng mga cars sa'tin. hirap na nga tayo bumili compared sa americans with more purchasing power tapos we're 20%-30% more expensive pa.

just like what china-made products did to computers, furnitures, equipments, electronics, toys etc ...

sayang nga lang at naging maiinitin yan may-ari ng nexus. he could have changed the trends of the Phil. Car Market kung naging patient lang sya sana. well as the saying goes, gulong ang buhay. if he's persistent, magsa-succeed yan Nexus coz of our present economic status.

Mukang land cruiser na hinde. silipin niyo sa google great wall motor co. ltd yung site ng manufacturer sa china. Actually may nag abot sakin ng brochure. Mukang ok naman pero parang somethings not right, ewan kung psychological dahil made in china o ewan basta!!

Kinilatis po namin yung mga nexus vehicles and napaka CHEAP ng quality. Though I wasnt able to test drive, based on our observations, yung build nya, very very poor. Mas maganda di hamak ang quality ng mga Korean cars. I even tried running my finger on the headlight assembly, pwede kang masugatan plus evident yung mga excess adhesive. Door handles feels cheap and can snap easily. Doors sound like filing cabinet when closed.

In short, chopseuy siya hahahaha!

Like what gearspeed said, get a trusted brand.
