sir Otep: Nothing to worry about po. I'll post pics tom sa pbase ko. I had it placed AFTER the exhaust manifold, dun sa exhaust pipe na mismo. Even if pasukan ng H20, walang problema coz exhaust gases will blow the water out. And you dont have to worry about rusting. Water pipe po ito. Water pipes dont rust. As far as i know, a lot of FXs and other diesel AUVs have this installed. Im beginning to think diesel manuf. should install this on all Brand New vehicles. It is so so effective, not to mention cheap! :D
Checked out your pix, nakakainspire po kayo. I'm now planning to have it done too. ;)Dati kasi puro sa mga diesel na pampasada ko nakikita yan. Meron sila nyan dahil stop n go yung driving nila and madalas sila i-test. With the mandatory testing for all, I bet marami na ring private diesel motorists na magpapakabit nyan!
Guys,
I have here the test procedure on how an emission test for diesel is supposed to be done. If you want a copy, email me privately. I will also try to upload this document for everybody to read.
Now for the rpm. The engine rpm level at which the emission test is done is dependent on 2 factors.
1. Machine factor - Some machines dictate what RPM should be reached before it takes the readings while others don't. Whether a machine dictates it or not, the user can bypass it but it would compromise the reading since some machines would not be able to detect the smoke on low RPM's thus no reading at all. Besides the probe to be inserted on your tail pipe will be the one to yield if there is a reading or none at all.
2. Human factor - If the machine dictates it, then he / she would have to follow it. But if not, any MOTOR VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL TECHNICIAN OR MVECT should know what RPM is desired to take the readings. Or, the old style filipino mentality can come in and make your day easy or hard depends on the you know what...
I was hesistant at first to have this installed kasi nga po ang baduy at pang pasada ang dating. But ayaw mawala nung usok... even after calibration etc. So i had the nipple installed out of desperation. After my first flushing, grabe lumabas na dumi! As in meron pang solid residue which looks like very very small black particles of sand. Pero hindi pa rin na alis ang usok at high RPMs. As it turns out, blow by na pala engine ko. So after replacing the piston rings and a top overhaul, hayan, super linis na! :D
I do the flushing every 2 or 3 months.... and like i said, no side effects! di naman kinakalawang.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) announced yesterday the suspension effective on Monday, October 14, of the mandatory emission compliance test of vehicles for renewal of registration in Metro Manila.
Thompson Lantion, DoTC spokesman, said that the emission compliance test initially implemented in Metro Manila last October 1 was put on hold to give vehicle owners time to fix their vehicle's engine.
Lantion said the emission compliance test will be fully reimplemented nationwide on January 2, 2003.
"The DoTC will evaluate the outcome of the initial implementation of the emission test to further improve its procedures and widen its implementation coverage to include not only Metro Manila but nationwide," Lantion said.
Lantion also said that the DoTC is conducting a dialogue with the road transport stakeholders in order to further improve the system.
"To iron out concerns in the implementation of the emission compliance tests and to further improve the system, we are having dialogue with the road transport groups," he said.
"We are also considering the effects of the recent worldwide increase of fuel prices and the coming of the holiday season. We would not want to further burden private and public vehicle owners of additional costs, which may cause public utility vehicle owners to seek an increase in fares," Lantion said.
However, Lantion said the DoTC will continue its intensified campaign against smoke-belching vehicles through roadside inspections.
thats ok too dude. I used to put a pressure washer in my car's tailpipe. But the shape of the pajero's pipe isnt too friendly to incoming water; by design, it curves sharply upward so as not to let in flood or river water.
Pare, youll be surprised at what will come out
now to find a place na nde magagalit madumihan yung sahig.. hehehe.. mahirap dun sa lugar ko... enclosed townhouses... panget makakita ng dumi dun..hehehe
postponed ba talaga? kausap ko si autoxer kanina.. sabi nya paparehistro daw sya ng car, and he was told to have an emission test. his was conducted at diamond motors along q.ave.
In my previous diesel ride nasuggest na rin sa akin yung Nipple, di ko lang napalagyan. malaki din pala siya kala ko parang snlaki lang ng mga nipple sa compressor ng aircon.
sir, totally vehicle dependent po yan. You can install a shorter water pipe nipple, but in my ride, medyo mataas ang fenders so if i installed something shorter, i would need a ladder to reach it....medyo hassle. So i bought a longer nipple. By the way, my cleaning kit includes a hose fitted with a funnel (IMBUDO  )
(guys nipple po ang tawag sa tube.. Baka may manyak dyan isipin UT*NG pinaguusapan namin  )
mikey... depende yan sa pressure washer kung saan mo papagawa... yung iba pressured water lang... yung iba naman talagang mainit yung tubig na lumalabas, as in steam na talaga... yun ang steam wash. i think muffler wash is the generic term na ginagamit nila.
hope this helped you
mali yung pix ko pala...baka isipin nila civic lalagyan ko ng nipple!
