UNGAS i just happend to have read reviews over the net try to check it out if you have time www.rancho.com.au.
It claims that it would give the rear a 40mm lift
I've managed to read Freemans post i might get the other stuff i need from his shop (torsions, shocks) just dont got time yet im only free on sundays
He said that i should try to use old man emu for my leafs<--coming from him i know that this is really the right thing to do...pero mejo nanghihinayang ako na palitan ang old leafs ko just fro a mere 30mm lift (i verified this thru fone at rats) quite a big amount to pay for just a small lift so im lookin for some more economical ways to lift my rear

    ARB
Thanks perhaps you can also post his number here
my ride is a 2000 strada

    thank you very much

    :lol:Freeman
I tried to contact carry boy i didnt know who to look for i just asked if they have available ome leaf <--the guy who answered told me to call RATS:roll:

burnikin::: The mere 30mm lift you were pertaining to can and will do wonders in offroading! (Sometimes it is more of an advantage!)

If changing for aftermarket leafs is far cry from your choices, then maybe some fabricated shackels and/or lifting blocks would be your next cheaper option. But I must warn you, to invest for a good set of longer stroke shock absorbers to avoid bottoming out those oem that you have now. :D

Btw, how tall do you want those lifts? Are you in anyway thinking of converting it into a monster truck? 8O

ARB - Thanks for the info :D

Ungas - im just planning for a 1" - 2" lift, ill be happy with that.
about the plan to convert to a monster truck - nope. its my daily driven vehicle. it wouldnt be nice to drive and i might get annoyed  (besides i dont thinks there are available regears for the strada the 4d56 might not be capable for tires exceeding 33)
    but im not sure.

Using fabricated shackles? a big No no and no for me heheh (no offense to guys using these stuff its just my personal preference; mejo la kasi ako tiwala sa gawa sa atin baka bumigay) Atermarket shackles that give a inch or two of lift <---- meron bang ganito?

About the lifting blocks <====can u please explain more. i got no idea about this ... do we have aftermarket lifting blocks? pros and cons? thanks :?:

FREEMAN - thank you very much ill give him a ring ASAP :D

The options previously posted were cheaper options than changing the whole leaf set. Pre-fab shackles pwedeng pasadya sa machine shop. Insist on using the tool steel para siguradong matibay. Aftermarket shackles dami ko na nakita nitong meron, some offroad magazines, and stores locally. Some are in S or Z form not the usual straight shackels.

Lifting blocks mounted inbetween the diffs and leaf springs, this option is only for leafs mounted on differentials. And may require more parts that need to be modified, ie; cross joints, transmission+propeller+differential angle. Lifting block pasadya na rin lang ito, yug iba ordinary blocks lang ang mahal.

my off ride is a 99 (first gen strada)

what i did to my strada to achieve 2 inch lift is
1.change rear shackles-refabricated longer shackles dont go beyond 2 inches though. cost 640
2.torsion bar crank-can be done DIY or any talyer will do
servitek also does this, again dont go beyond 2 inches.cost 300 plus 800 alignment 1,100

el cheapo will just cost you 1,740

plus i did change my tires from 30" to 31"
and Rancho shocks for a better ride

check out BIG NASTY here: http://www.pbase.com/kimpoy316/my_ride

shackles pic included, i have them rustproofed para mas matibay

ungas - thanks for the explanation your like a walking encyclopedia when it comes to suspension stuff :D Big help indeed

Kimpoy - Nice pick up you got there. tnx for the suggestions. let me guess harsher ride? but compensated by your ranchos of course?
ill think about it...ill go check out some more stuffs in case things doesnt work out perhaps you can show me where you had el cheapo shackles fabricated

sure, the one good thing about my elcheapo suspension lift, is i can revert it back to normal in case im tired of off roading (which i dont think its gonna happen)
i still have my old shackles,

yup, torsion bar crank means harsher ride, and ride was compensated by ranchos.
but the refab longer shackles rides the same, our strada is below the axle, so they have more play, vs frontiers above the axle, less play
